HH Yogi
Was trying to think of something appropriate at this very sad time, but you've said all that has to be said JS.
Thanks for that.

Rest in peace John, you will live in the memory of all who have our club in their hearts.

It is easy to forget that first-team squads in the 60's often only consisted of 14/15 players. That meant that every single player was a vital component and had to be finely honed in the event that changes had to be made.

That is an incredibly tough ask when you're talking about a team such as The Lions were. It pays great testament to Yogi and the significance he played in ensuring that The Lions didn't miss a beat when he was called upon.

John Hughes wasn't just a back-up man though. He created his own place in Celtic history and deserves to be credited as an icon. There are a few guys in our current squad who seem relatively content to warm benches for big wages who could do a lot worse than look to the likes of Yogi to learn what being part of a team means.

John Hughes: Celtic icon, legend and true believer
