Newcastle 1-Leicester 0

Rodgers states
“When you play an opponent that’s very deep and put all 11 players in the final third of the pitch, then of course it’s difficult.
“It was interesting for me to see, there are areas that we could be better.
“First half, we were too slow in our passing, in order to get in between the lines and unbalance their defence. Second half, we were better. I thought we played through the lines better.
“There are lots of areas that we can improve in. There weren’t too many chances in the game and sometimes that’s the way it is in these types of games.
“It was one of those nights where it didn’t quite come off for us but the players gave everything. We’ll go away and analyse it and hopefully we’ll be better the next time we face that kind of opponent.

“It’s obviously disappointing when you lose any game. The important thing is learning from it, we’re here to help the team improve eventually in these types of games.
"We had enough of the ball but you need to be dangerous with it and tonight we didn’t create enough when we had it. You’ve got to give credit to Newcastle for that.
"They sat in deep and they’re fighting for their lives in the league and of course when they get the goal, it makes it even more difficult. So there’s plenty for us to look at, and we’ll go away and improve from it."

Fighting for their lifes taht win means Newcastle are only 9 points behind Rodgers now

wonder why he never says, my style is to play exactly same no matter the opposition, win, lose or draw, I will say exactly the same every match, we have areas to improve and looking forward to exact same next week win lose or draw there is room for improvement but ill be changing nothing, next week... ad infinity and beyond. Money for nothing and his chips for free, but your club will financially get sucked into a hole without actually any value added players, win lose or draw we need more money to reach that higher level.

Why do you play exactly same every game Brendan?

I've got some wonderful players and wonderful people working here and we are all looking forward to improving every game.

busted flush TET!!!!!

Even in Scotland BR was beginning to be found out. In Europe we often didnt have a plan B. He will be found out very very shortly. His ego will always be his biggest stumbling block. He'll win fuck all in England. He's Mouriniho without the trophy's. Fake tan fake teeth fake past, basically, just a fake man.

Guys, why don't we all sit back for a minute and think of all the good times BR brought to our iconic club, rather than constantly berating him? Yeah, the way he left didn't exactly leave a good taste in our mouths but think of it, we're still in the hunt for a totally unique Treble Treble and that, in a big way, is down to him so why don't we forget all the vilification and enjoy what he did for us?

You make a fair point M, but sometimes all the good we do can be undone by a single selfish act. You are quite right he did a good job. It would have been better if he had come at it with honesty... it’s a job fir which I am getting paid, I’ll do the best while I’m here and then when the time is right I’ll move on. But unfortunately he made it seem that he was a true Celt at heart.... my boyhood team.... my boyhood dream job.... all the choked back tears when he presented himself to the fans outside Celtic Park...... here for the 10. And to crawl out the back door without a word, at a critical time in the season..... no longer a Celt..... never mind the dream...... money talks. I think it’s that act that sticks in the craw fir many of us. But I appreciate your sentiment. HH?

You too make a fair point GG and I do acknowledge that he could have left in a much better way, but I'd rather see people just accept it now and get on with enjoying watching the Bhoys play and setting records the ones on the other side of the river could never hope to match. HH

......living the dream....yeah, well is this a better dream than your last dream Bren,......
and now....
you're starting to wake up.
BOTH your 'dreams' are over,
and now....
you're getting D reamed......
wait 'til you actually play anyone!
.......you will get creamed.
....playing the top six will be top sex......
...ice cream afterwards........definitely not bitter....
in fact its starting to taste bittersweet....

Yer aff yer nut. He did what he did for himself. Not once did he put the team first. Its obvious when we lost it was down to his lack of sportsmanship when he was applying pressure to the board.
He’s nothing more than a fat swally with an overbloated sense of ego. Fuck him

Are ye serious here or takin the piss?

To be honest I would rather not remember him at all in any way matter or form - just done. Can’t see any good as it was all shattered the day he sneaked out the back door.

His loss though we still have our great team and our great fans to be doubly proud. HH

The man had Paradise and walked away from it. I don’t think his 30 pieces of silver will be much compensation. It’s a decision that I think he will regret. Perhaps we put him on a pedestal that he never quite deserved, perhaps we thought he was a better man than he was. HH
In years to come being interviewed for the Accrington Stanley asst coach.
When asked "When did it all start going wrong Brendan"??
His reply "Looking back now it were going to 'Celtic' that team made me look so good I believed I were that good, later I were found out as a fraudster and chancer, but nobody would trust me again"

Brilliant reply.
He sold us a dream, a voyage and journey. We all believed him when it started so well, even when things went wrong, we had his back. We invited him into our home and hearts, he burgled the house, slept with your sister who he had promised his loyalty.
You have no friends in this house Frodgers, a pox on your house, you ate not welcome anymore
