Watched sky sports news earlier...there was jim white talking about the up and coming European matches and how they will be affected by coronavirus. Champions league teams 1st. Then united and wolves each time the camera would cut to the various stadiums. Then we get to sevco. He was telling us that fans will be allowed to the match at the crumbledome...then it cuts to their pitch....and you wont believe it!!! A bloody miracle...there was a football pitch with perfect green grass...even had a guy walking along cutting it. Is this some sort of modern day green fingered magic...or sky sports trying to show that their favourite we Scottish clubs pitch isnt a muddy mess.

Grass does grow when temp is above 5 degrees celsius - albeit slowly . Consider the low point of the poor state of grass at CP - and now the park looks reasonable.
Same at eyepox = temp is coming up and grass will look a wee bit better considering there very very low point.
Remember both clubs using solar lamps so grass growth now unaturally good for this time of year - so looks good on both grounds.....actually i just cut my grass in the garden on Sunday.....

Gerrard saying the weather conditions over the past 12 weeks mean the pitch is not in fantastic condition. The Celtic pitch is in perfect condition. The last I heard was that Celtic and them played in the same city. Same weather conditions. Or is it a case that they can’t afford to do anything with it.

Have just read the Glasgow times (source Marca) saying that the rangers tie tonight is likely to be suspended. Although the dark age body that's the SFA are confirming that the derby will be played to capacity. There are hundreds maybe thousands of Germans already here in Glasgow and if true they have made a major balls up of this leaving it til the last minute. I understand the reasoning behind this, 50thousand people in the same place within4 days isnt being cautionary. Marca also claim that the Europa league could be altogether suspended. The SNP and sturgeon have been dragging their heels on this. They have been as inactive as the SFA. Wheres the leadership from the SNP? They crave it but when they are required to act they are lacking both bodies and the spfl, what are they waiting for? An actual death? Does it require a death in Scotland from this virus for action to be taken?

A muddy pitch shouldn't be enough to call off any game involving professional footballers, if its waterlogged and the ball is sticking up or not travelling then maybe but even then weve seen worse , games in the snow even on plastic.
