Scottish words.

Snashters
One of my Dad's favourite words
Snashters meant sweets, candy, all the sugary stuff that we loved as weans
He used to say "Is that you bringing merr snashters, in the hoose ?"

Skelp - a slap

Skelf - a sliver

Dolly Dimple - simple...as n he's a wee bit, Dolly Dimple

I sing "3 Craws sat upon a wa" to my 4 ear old Granddaughter and she loves it
I even found it on you tube

And then there's "Auntie Mary, had a canary..."
Great Big Sea has a video when they performed it with Scottish country dancers in Ottawa, on Canada Day
