We Live In Special Times

Winter - there was a lot of nonsense spouted in the media the following day slagging off Celtic for having the lowest % possession ever. I remember 11% being thrown in our face. Yet UEFA's official report has us at 27% possession (see below) which ties in with the stats that periodically flashed up on the big screen in the ground. I'm guessing there was one of these on-screen tv stats of % possession for the last 10 minutes which had Barca at 89% and people have just gone with that without watching the whole game.

The most remarkable thing about that game was we had 4 big players out injured and Barca should have had 2 sent off - a shocking studs up foul into Samaras' upper thigh and a professional foul by Mascharino to stop a clear goal scoring opportunity (glad they never went off or that would have been the only reason for us winning).

Still pretty dismal at home though, even if it was a massive 23%. It was just one of those nights, but we were totally outclassed. Wet ook both of our chances, if they had taken a third of theirs it would have been about 5.2.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon has revealed that he has already earmarked as many as three players as transfer targets.
Lennon's future at Celtic has only been clarified for less than 48 hours, after he was offered the permanent manager's position following Saturday's 2-1 win over Hearts in the Scottish Cup final.

Not alot wrong with that

there's another thread on it saying he's looking at 7

will judge them on there first signings

Chelsea only managed 28% for both their games against Barca that season (OK Terry was sent off in 1 game) and Arsenal only managed 24% the season before. That is what Barca were doing to opponents at that time. We were disciplined - 8 fouls committed despite a fair bit of diving - but we stood off them and let them enjoy their sterile domination. Of course we were lucky, just as lesser Scottish teams often need to be to beat us, but that doesn't take away from a remarkable result and display.

Always say it BB you try and go toe to toe with these teams they ll destroy you ,the only way is to sit in and maybe try and catch them on the break(easier said than done)or maybe scoring from a corner or a set piece.Lookin forward to seeing what Lenny can do with the team in Europe ??
