Normally try not to drink midweek but had to go for a few post match beers to calm down.
Supporters across the continent, and players, have a European night at Celtic Park on their bucket list. We get it every time we play a home European tie. How lucky are we.
Thought we were the better team for 38 mins until they scored. Wouldn’t blame anyone for the goal, it was a brilliant counter attacking goal. They were then the better team until the boy hit the post, when he should have scored, and Lenny made his tactical change. We equalised within a couple of minutes then it was end to end. The end was typical Celtic Park on European night. Julien clubbed like McNeill to bury the header then the Forster save was unbelievable. The perfect volley, through bodies, his reactions were unreal, to not only get a hand on it but to push it to the side was as good a save as you’re likely to see.
Back 4 better than the front 4 tonight, but that’s what you need when you play the top sides in Europe. Elhamed and Bolingoli had their best games and Julien and Ajer were solid against some top quality strikers.
Can’t wait for Rome.
