Celtic or religion or politics?

Anyway Danoli oneards n upwards pal.

By playing the beautiful game like we’re doing at present we will stroll the ten in a row.

I reckon the other lot will go bust even before that and their acolytes will have no team to follow therefore won’t be bothering us about our remembrance songs.

Celtic will win on the pitch as we have always done.

We shall sing our songs as we have always done.

And the ebt cheats and the cheats will get away with it like they have always done.

But we are winners and we overcome

I just don't understand how you can say they RIGHTLY have cause to view us the same...it's that word rightly you keep using. Like you agree with them. They wrongly view us as racist and sectarian. They wrongly tar us with that brush so as to allow the scum to sing about being up to their knees...and no matter what we sing that won't change. We could sing 3 blind mice and the media in Scotland would say it was somehow equivalent to the famine song and attack us. I feel you back tracking a bit as in your first post you made sure the word rightly was in capitals as to make a point that you agreed...

For heavens sake ! I give up
I think you are trying to justify your criticism of me
The word RIghtly is in their mind I said that
If you Read my response again and most of my general posts you will know exactly where I am coming from which I humbly suggest is where 95% of our fans are
If you are in the pro IRA lobby on here with the rest of them just say it and we will all move on

With all due respect.

The original purpose of this thread had been exhausted.

You re-ignited the debate by reintroducing the pro-IRA faction within our fans.

You condemned our stance and suggested it is illicit and, by association, suggesting we are supporting a criminal organisation.

But a criminal organisation......by the definition of whom?

Would that not happen to be those mischeivous scamps in the british government perchance?

I'll differ also to agree about the figures relating to the 'pro-IRA" quotient of our support.

You brought this matter back to the table, Verum.

I don't need to justify my critisisim of you mate...you didn't say that THEY felt they were right. You wrote they RIGHTLY tarred us with the same brush as the hun...you then corrected yourself. Your correction would have been more believable if you hadn't decided to use capital letters in the word RIGHTLY. I have completely made my position clear on rebel songs. I don't sing them at Paradise cause I live in Guildford so don't go to paradise. I respect people's right to sing them..I respect people's right not wanting to sing them...I was brought up with the rebel songs...I had family members who knew rebels...I've had stories from my mum of rebs staying at my nanas who came over for matches cause they were my uncle's mates....what i won't tolerate is some arsehole....any arsehole call my family members racists or compare them to the scum because they sing songs.

I doubt there's a football forum in the land that doesn't debate all manner of subjects beyond the team. I suppose that's why those who set up this site created both Celtic Chat and General Chat sections.

I wasn't trying to be rhetorical when I asked if I misunderstood. I thought I might have.
All week, I've listened to and read opinions about Remembrance Sunday. It's a subject close to a lot of hearts and so I did not seek to quieten it. When they spoke of those who fought bravely in the Great War I didn't mention that many of the same soldiers kicked Flanders mud out of their boots only to ransack Dublin and shoot two of my great-great-uncles; I didn't hush them when they spoke about their relatives who "were in the service", even though every British conflict since WWII has been a turkey shoot where men have taken wages to play soldiers in unfair fights. It's freedom of speech and they can say what they like.
That said, people on here aren't to speak about their own, who, firstly, fought to liberate a European nation from the yoke of a colonial oppressor and, secondly, brought the issue of civil rights to the attention of the British in the only way they might understand.
I was in Derry when news filtered through about the Omagh bombing. It disgusted me. That was carried out by headbangers. But to dismiss hundreds of years of resistance and progress because of it is nonsense.
We're a strange bunch of people who will revere Che Guevara, Mandela, Bolivar, Zapata, Rosa Luxemburg and the men and women who fought for freedom, but the sight or sound of our own disgusts us.

Each to their own, I say.

Folks , for those of us not participating this is getting like a car crash . You know something tragic has happened but you can't look away .
Emotions are running high so at the risk of being battered by both sides in this debate - can we calm down ?
And remember we are supposed to be different from other sites - we show respect to each other at all times - that has been forgotten too many times here .

And my scumgers comment was aimed at anyone who thinks Celtic is just a football club....if that's what u think they are then yes it was aimed at you...if you believe we are more then no it wasn't....so I won't take you saying "sad" as an insult...I don't mince my words...if I wanted to tell you, Verum2, to fuck of and support the scum I would...but Im not...I'm having a debate with you ?
