Well, there's no doubt that the last couple of games have proved to be much more encouraging than I'd thought they could ever be.
The first halves in both games were absolutely brilliant and far more like what we've been used to over the past few years. We now need to get a full 90mins like that under our belt.
I'm still not convinced NL is the man for the job long term.
That being said...If he manages to turn the performances around this season and guide us to the quadtreb and 10IAR he will go down as one of the biggest legends in the club's 132yr unbroken history.
His name will be part of the folklore that runs through this unbelievable football team which was formed for all the right reasons way back in the nineteenth century. He would be talked about in the future by todays younger generation in the same hushed tones that many of us on here still talk about Stein, Johnstone, McNeill and the like.
I've been one of his biggest critics but no one will be happier than me if he stays and turns it round.
I'll quite happily scoff down large slice of humble pie with a topping of idiot sauce if we scoop the league this season, and I'll eat it with a massive smile on my face.
As I said earlier, I'm still not convinced he's the man for the job, but there's been such a notable improvement in the last two games from everything I've seen before this season that I'm prepared to be less vocal in future and see where this fork in the road takes us.
