Real Betis v Celtic - Europa League 5.45pm Thursday 16th September

I deduced something entirely different. However opinions differ. I think Ange made the same mistakes NL made, many times. Not hooking Soro at HT was one.
I'm also becoming disillusioned with his inactivity and communication from the technical area. Not using subs is another worry, and then too late.
So many players running all over the pitch wherever they felt like it. 3 of their goals came from the left, Ralstons area, yet nothing was done, even at half time. The gallant loser tag is not for me.
Not using subs because he hasn't any that are good enough. Not his fault, those in charge's fault. The gallant loser tag is the best you will get as long as the club work on the basis of participation in Europe rather than competing in Europe.
His system is infinitely better than Lennon's sit deep, defend and get pumped like last season.

Good point Gary.

I didn't see the game tonight but have to be honest it's a disappointment having been two up. We have got to learn how to game manage better, a point should have been the least we took from that.
Accepted that there were players missing and the opposition was decent but progress means taking something out of these games.

They 2 rapid goals were killers its as if the players never realised ur always more vulnerable after u concede

We only missed Callum. One player. Jota more than covered the absent Abadas position. IMHO Welsh should have played and Starfelt dropped.
Mistakes were made tonight, before the game.
That's big game test No 4 that Ange has failed. But hey, we'll hammer Livi 4-0 at the weekend, an everyone will be happy.
It took jock more than two months to build his team

Doesn't help when 5 of your attacking options..no 6, are out with injury....I cannot fault us tonight..I watched the game tonight with an EPL obsessed English friend who was seriously impressed with us..as was I.....yes we were naive at times at the back but we were better than the score suggests

Fuck the Italian press....shitebags

We are on the rise
The Italian presses views weren't really my point. It was a Celtic Star article.
It was going 2-0 up then capitulating that I was drawing comparisons with.
We may be a better more entertaining team to watch going forward, especially for neutrals like your mate. But if all we can do is entertain, yet lose important matches, we will never be a threat. If we cannot hold a lead, unless it's to the likes of Ross County, what chance do we have in Europe?
If we end up bottom of the group, is there a plucky loser award?

I was pleasantly surprised by our speed, composure and verve, particularly in the first half...when you look back on their goals, 3 of them were extremely fortuitous.....we had basically a second string team flung together but they played in a fearless manner which fills me with optimism ......sure there are flaws but like I said , our fearless approach excites me and when our main attacking threats return, we will be a much lauded team

We missed Calmac. That's for certain. Makes you wonder how we'd manage if he had a long term lay off?
Ajeti more than compensated for the loss of Kyogo, as did Jota for Abada.
Betis stepped up a gear after we went 2 up. One of their players is 40 btw.
Their left winger ran riot all night, an we let him.
Sure we got one back after they used all their subs.

This year is a year like no other either
Late getting manager
12 new signings
19 players out
The euros
3 games a week though qualifiers
Then a 3 game international break

hardly any time on training ground with team and injuries galore

he’s hardly had a chance to whip them into shape but they look great going forward
Just need to waken up at back

I still wouldn’t mind some if what your smoking though 🤣
