Transfer Rumours

Fkn English fitba though I've always had a wee soft spot for coventry just cos I have family there if I was to just plum for a premier side it would probably be arsenal but even then hardly gets the juices flowing does it whatever 2nd side you pick naw theres nae 2nd side Celtic B would be the 2nd side 🍀
Can't watch English football because I have no emotional investment as it breaks my heart to see any English c**ts winning anything

When you listen to these two guys you begin to wonder
just how good a quality of players we have brought in from Japan..
Marvel man,Spider man and Super man come to mind..

I see despite the much-publicised free Hibs tickets Johnny Kenny signed up today. This lad is a huge fish in a tiny bowl, Sligo fans are gutted at losing the wonderkid who delivered unprecedented European progress to a wee town team. You can be sure he was offered 1st team football if he stepped aboard the Spice Boy Express but he's smart enough or well-advised enough to know where that train goes. Johnny Kenny chose the hard right over the easy wrong. I'd be very surprised and disappointed if his name isn't striking paralysing-fear amongst the hoards of inhumanity in the next few years. Imagine an Irish Assassin supported by Japanese Samurai, relentlessly smiting the unworthy. All we would need then would be a German Midfieldmarshal to truly eradicate all vestiges of their faux superiority complex.

100% correct GS, and given what Ange has achieved already on this rebuild with the players bought in, and can give us that extra quality he has had time to access now, plus knowing the players and providing stability possibly for the next 2 to 3 seasons after this one still, then is it any wonder hun scum are shitting themselves to the degree they are now?
Just hoping now the bastards can stay around long enough to watch it all in its splendour now.

How does the guy in the right know so much about Japanese football

Linked this morning with a move for Australian international Riley McGree from MLS expansion side Charlotte FC. He’s spent first half of season on loan at Birmingham. 23 yo midfielder who Ange gave his first international call up to as an 18 yo in 2017. We were reportedly interested in him back then.

Story from Mail, also being reported in various other outlets down south.

Celtic are closing on a deal for Australia international Riley McGree after impressing on loan at Birmingham City

Celtic are said to be closing on a deal for Australia international Riley McGree

The 23-year-old star has proved a firm favourite with Birmingham supporters

McGree made 30 appearances and scored three goals prior to his loan period

The 23-year-old has proved a firm favourite with Birmingham supporters after arriving on loan from MLS expansion franchise Charlotte FC last season.

He went on to make 30 appearances and scored three goals prior to his loan period finishing at the end of December attracting interest from a number of clubs.

McGree had professed his love for Birmingham and was willing to consider staying with Lee Bowyer's Championship side. Indeed, teammate George Friend made a plea for the club to keep McGree saying: 'He has been great. He's a very good player.

He has had a really tough time here because under [Aitor] Karanka he just didn’t play, even though every day in training he was arguably the best player.

'He has waited and he has got a great temperament and personality - and most of all he is a talented footballer, so I hope he can stay on some level.'

Subsequently, Birmingham were widely expected to try and make his move permanent, however, Celtic manager, and fellow Australian, Ange Postecoglu is a confirmed admirer and wants to take McGree to the Scottish Premiership where he believes the playmaker can have a big impact.

A number of Championship clubs are understood to have shown strong interest in McGree, who has been playing for Australia in their World Cup qualifiers this year, but it looks increasingly likely that Celtic will fend off rival competition and convince him to sign for them in the coming days.

I don't know anything about the boy but I remember a couple of Australian football experts (and the guys on Bhoys Down Under) mentioning him, when Ange first joined, as the standout Australian talent they thought we might target.

Another good article by Niall. I think most of us really want Mikey to succeed at Parkhead but as Sutton rightly points out it is his decision making and not looking up for options that are Johnston's weakest areas. He states that McGeady was the same and this was corrected by teammates letting him know that he had better change - fair enough, but we don't have big no-messing characters like Sutton, Hartson, Lennon, etc in the dressing room these days.

Personally I'd prefer him to go on loan to a club like Hibs so he can improve through greater gametime and return to us as a much more influential player.
MJ is playing like a player that’s spent the best part of 3 years injured and lacking in confidence.
I remember well a fit and firing MJ would be considered almost unplayable at times. If he gets himself going then Martin Boyle couldn’t lace his boots.
the boys only 23 and clearly been struggling through injuries.
If anyone thinks ange has been picking him for the first team and will then let him go in loan ….
He clearly has the managers confidence, maybe the boo bhoys should get off his back and support one of our own in a Celtic jersey.
But it seems to me if your Scottish you don’t get get the same patience foreign players get ala mcgregor Forrest ralston
