Celtic v St Johnstone - Scottish Cup 5th Round, Celtic Park - all comments here

It's back to playing St Johnstone for the third time in just over a week and hopefully we'll get the same kind of result. A first half goal would be nice!

Maybe 4-0 this time?

What do you think?[/QUOTE

Celtic have taken 11 goals with no reply from St Johnstone this season over 4 matches in both the League and the League Cup cimpetitiins 2 at home and 2 away

I think that the clean sheet momentum is very important as we have 4 season defining matches coming up over the next 11 days over 3 competitions starting with Scottish Cup today Europa League the following 2 Thursdays with a tricky away League fixture against Kilmarnock on their horrible pitch sandwiched in between We are never at our best after European matches and this one holds more angst than some especially after us losing down there earlier in the season and Kikmarnick's recent reputation of scalp taking or points nicking

Having scored 16 goals without reply and a 100% win record over 6 matches since the turn of the year I feel that we have given ourselves a more than fighting chance of continuing our 2019 domination of opponents as we now appear to be in a winning mindset

What our players MUST be aware of though is not giving referees ANY cause whatsoever to disadvantage us especially in our domestic matches whether it be dismissal for foul or alleged foul play dissent or penalties awarded against us. for the smallest excuse
Also retrospective disciplinary action against us by desperados looking for the smallest opporchancity to benefit the HUNS

So ....,. after taking everything into account Looking at the many variables Consulting Old Moore's Almanac Reading the tea leaves coupled with an hour of Crystal Ball gazing I am predicting a 3-0 Home Win goals from Sinclair Weah and McGregor although I'd be happy with any victory preferably with a clean sheet as the last thing we want is another fixture to bog us down in an already busy season run in

HH?

Love to see big Timo get a couple today, I've already predicted 4 or 5 today if we get at them early doors, but with a big hat tip to CQN, a new article this morning is giving us a wee glimmer of hope of having Timo here for longer than 6 months. Brendan seems to think it might be possible as we seem to have a good relationship with PSG.
They obviously trust Brendan to look after their youngsters which is important, but I feel if we keep our fingers crossed and PSG still have plenty of players for forward positions (why wouldn't they), we may get Timo next season.
The way big Bayo handled himself on the touchline this week, I hope he gets a run out at some point today, I wouldn't put too much pressure on the lad but the quicker he gets some playing time the better, if this big fella gets the service from out wide I think we'll have something we've been missing for a long time, a big bulldozer in the box who can get us goals with the head.

CELTIC- Bain; Toljan, Boyata, Simunovic, Hayes; Brown, McGregor, Christie; Forrest, Sinclair; Burke.
Subs: Gordon, Lustig, Ajer, Bitton, Ntcham, Weah, Edouard
Team for today.
