Best Lyrics In a Song?

When the Poppy was first in use it was called the Earl Haig fund and was despised, so the lyrics below sums up to me why the poppy was actually hated by some veterans as they were constantly reminded of war and their falling comrades and all done becasuse of stupidness of power grabbing upper class like Haig who cared not a jot or a clue how to best protect in battle the men he put to death.

US and THEM

Us (us, us, us, us) and them (them, them, them, them)
And after all we're only ordinary men
Me
And you (you, you, you)
God only knows
It's not what we would choose (choose, choose) to do (to do, to do)
Forward he cried from the rear
And the front rank died
And the general sat
And the lines on the map
Moved from side to side

When I was a waen I used tae sell puff tae make money
But we'd smoke all the profit and by friday it was no longer funny

The mayhem of glesga is buried deep in ma blood
And theres no other place where a 'cunt' might no be a put down
Its 13degrees and theres folk in the street in the skud

Gerry Cinnamon (lyrical genius)
Diamonds in the mud

There's a club if you'd like to go
You could meet somebody who really loves you
So you go and you stand on your own
And you leave on your own
And you go home and you cry
And you want to die

The Smiths

That reminds me of when I used to go to the dancing and never got fixed up :(

Sad eh

Don't judge a book just by the cover
Unless you cover just another
And blind acceptance is a sign
Of stupid fools who stand in line
Like
emi ...sex pistols

But I don't mind, as long as there's a bed beneath the stars that shine.
I'll be fine - if you give me a minute, a man's got a limit.
I can't get a life if my heart's not in it.

reminds meof a carefree attitude i had as a youth

Joe Walsh, lifes been good...

I have a mansion but forget the price
Ain't never been there, they tell me it's nice
I live in hotels, tear out the walls
I have accountants, pay for it all

They say I'm crazy but I have a have a good time
I'm just looking for clues at the scene of the crime
Life's been good to me so far

My Maseratti does one-eighty-five
I lost my license, now I don't drive
I have a limo, ride in the back
I lock the doors in case I'm attacked

I'm making records, my fans they can't wait
They write me letters, tell me I'm great
So I got me an office, gold records on the wall
Just leave a message, maybe I'll call

Lucky I'm sane after all I've been through
(Everybody say I'm cool, he's cool)
I can't complain but sometimes I still do
Life's been good to me so far

I go to parties sometimes until four
It's hard to leave when you can't find the door
It's tough to handle this fortune and fame
Everybody's so different, I haven't changed

They say I'm lazy but it takes all my time
(Everybody say oh yeah, oh yeah)
I keep on goin' guess I'll never know why
Life's been good to me so far
