So we are just 3 points away from our next possible 9 points from starting in Europe in The Group stages on September 6th.

People have mentioned the financial riches that will ensue but perhaps more importantly there will be no potential banana skins in the qualifying rounds. Mark Lawwell has just been appointed as our Head of our First team Scouting and Recruitment and he and Ange will have from May 14th when our season ends to bring together Part 2 of the Ange revolution. The priority next season has to be in reaffirming our dominance domestically and ensuring that we consolidate our champion status.

However - it would be nice to consider reasserting our status in Europe and at least begin to look competitive in that arena. We done OK in the Europa League this season, but we looked quite naive in at least three of our group games and looked leaky at the back.

Depending on the draw, then we can get a battering if we show that same level of naivety and Ange might have to forego some of his principles and find an alternative way of playing against more gifted opposition.

Europe is a secondary priority though - the money will be greatly appreciated, but if we emphasise on our domestic strength - then we can consider a more studied approach to Europe in the two or three seasons after.
