You're right Galway. If you are part-time we could regionalise (is that a word?) leagues. Yes it is a conflict of interest unless the SPFL run a fund and we simply contribute alongside crowd funding, sponsors, other clubs etc. We do know what the landscape will look like though. Clubs have 3/6 months leeway maximum without help.. I'm not saying we prop up the Rangers, I'd even happily keep this out of all top flight clubs but theres a lot of history in Dunfermline, Dundee Utd, Dundee etc etc and a lot of guys who just want to watch there team every week.
There was a lot of history in Timex, goldbergs and house of frazer , if you don't live within your means year after year and cut your cloth and adapt to the current markets you die, harsh as it may sound
Dunfermline had lifelines to the bank just like sevco same with the dundees , there heydays are long gone the product on the park is not attractive to the fan base and there's too many clubs in the catchment area and not enough folk wanting to go watch these teams
For to long the SFA have run leagues that were unsustainable there were to many teams for the model and all had a hand out to help keep the lights on , you have to ask if the uefa money this year was stopped how many would have anything in the bank to get them to start the season off
SFA /SPFL have nothing ,no model at all for clubs to fall back on , take away our cash in the bank which were now burning through and after years of being prudent we planned ahead much to the frustration of us all
it's a concept others need to do but most of all the lack of blame towards the governing bodies is the elephant in the room , they escape blame at every turn
Even if we did give loans to clubs which in my opinion is a stupid idea , do you honestly think they could pay it back or feel the need to play it back,,, after all we've got plenty
clydebank had history so did the mutant airdrie ,nobody batted an eylid when they went
maybe it would be a good thing , less clubs, more money to split
