Joe Hart

I keep hearing we still have best playets in Scotland but losing the league by 25 points last year proves we re not top dogs anymore John.I cant see the huns dropping too many points again so every game should be played like a cup final ..easier said than done though .
You know yourself Tony that was a false margin in a pantomime of a season.
A terrible attitude was on display last season, no team spirit, players playing individually, muppets as managers, etc etc
Better organisation should bring the change in fortunes, far more disciplined than still needs work.

if its true we are looking to sign Joe Hart then whoever recommended him needs sacking Joe Hart is 10 years past his best, so a word of advice to Celtic save your money whatever he wants for a signing on fee and wages keep it to put into a decent package and get Foster back.
Agree get Foster get the league back to paradise. Hart Marshall Bain etc... total rubbish .

Didn't Pep get rid of him from City because of his poor distribution from the back?
Plus he struggled in the keeper / sweeper role

IIRC he was the keeper that headed he ball to Zlatan for the bicycle kick against England.
Caused by Hart rushing out of his box and a weak header straight up in the air

IMO we missed a chance to get David Marshall back last year and given the option he would still be my preference however at least Joe Hart is a quality goalkeeper and that would be a major improvement on what we currently have.
My nine year old grandson would be better than what we have And he’s a CM

Can't disagree John, will we ever get to hear what really happened don't think so, I have to agree with you on the fact that it all seems to be too short term. Our 3rd keeper isn't good enough, we've loaned out young Doohan again. We let our other young keeper leave for down south. I'm not even sure if we still have a specialist goal keeping coach. If we have then we aren't getting a return from it. I know that both Gordon and Forster benefitted from him so my only conclusion is that the language barrier couldn't be overcome. If Hart does join then he is a decent enough keeper to relegate Barkas to the bench. HH
I could relegate Barkas to the bench and I’m 62 with ra and diabetes and a nana to 8 lovely kids

To be honest Docco a lot of us might have to change our tune.

I thought Hart was passed it and wanted Howe as manager

How wrong can I be

Very true ...same can be said for Ralston too I guess....

Like I said on a previous thread, Joe Hart was and is a top class keeper who was hung out to dry by Man City and Pep following the World Cup where the big fella had a high profile howler....All keepers have them at a stage in their careers...he went into free fall and never regained his confidence...Here at Celtic, he is our biggest name player and I feel that Ange has made him the "daddy" of this young team.... clearly the big man is revelling in the role and should be made vice captain.....still get the fear a bit when the balls at his feet but his presence cannot be underestimated

Even if there are aspects to his game that he has fluffed in the past, he's still far better than Bain and Barkas and with some confidence and steady coaching he will bring a maturity to the team. He's been and done it all and his experiences can only benefit the young side we have.

I've always liked him and was delighted when he arrived as we've rarely bought a goalkeeper of such standing before, although some attained that level after a spell at Paradise.
