Right away ...dembele cut that lad loose. Isn't training hard and him an afalobi are chipping in with rude boy stuff online.I can only comment on my own experience as far as manager styles. I'm in restaurants. Worked under dinosaurs, grafted and took all the abuse under the sun.
Fast forward to now.
Outside the trades or a ball booting kitchen you need to be careful.
I'm 34 this year but I seen the change first hand.
A kick and a verbal is the way I deemed the way to go.
Ye can't hack it then f off.
I'm not condoning abuse in the workplace but it's a conveyor belt of class A pussies coming through every fresh rung now.
You wouldn't believe how tender they are.
If RK picked his own tough pros it would work. If the young lads could take it on the chin it would work. If Kean had the knowledge to develop players ....it might work.
The one thing I've learned is temper kicks arses in gear. It can't be the backbone of a structure. Fear stops people being their best. Its a fine line.
With every year on this earth I've mellowed but I didn't start from the point of being RK.
If ...when....we go through a difficult patch I just don't trust him
Sorry Lubo have to disagree with you.We have to forget about Europe for a season or two. Even at our best we would struggle to make any sort of dent. We have declined so much and the rebuilding job is so massive that even if we were to buy a whole new team over the summer it would take at least 6 months for the squad to really gel and get to know each other, especially during a pandemic where players can't go out and socialise with their new team mates. People are comparing Keane with Lennon but I doubt very much Keane would accept players being unfit and unable to last 90 minutes. He strikes me as a guy that believes players are in a privileged position and should take their job seriously. We have to get back on top in Scotland. I believe that can easily be achieved by having a squad that can last 90+ minutes. I get that we need to talk tactics but let's be honest, Scottish teams haven't all of a sudden learned anything different. It's always been 11 men behind the ball and hit on the break. The difference from this season and the last 8 was that our players kept going and going for the whole match and eventually went on to win when our opposition were dead on their feet. This season teams only had to really last 50 to 60 minutes...thats around the time our players were fucked. Then they could go on to earn a point or even nick a win. If Keane had the write mix of coaches and backroom staff I'd be happy to have him at paradise
ExcellentSorry Lubo have to disagree with you.
The reason we are so far back as you put it is because of the attitude of not caring about making a dent in Europe, if our team could play well in Europe we would canter the trophies here anyway and we'd be respected again as a club and feared as an opposition.
The fitness issue comes down to the mitigating circumstances like everything else according to lennon this season.
I personally don't want Roy Keane or any more managers of that ilk in job at parkhead. Time to look outside the box of Irish or connection to the club and not take a cheap option either. Let's try and go actually get a marquee manager or someone who is tactically astute. When have we actually ever had a manager that has made us sit up and take notice? The Rat wouldn't have came to us if his stock hadn't crashed with the Liverpool sacking. O'Neill was a good name as he had punched above his weight with Leicester. Venglos, Jansen, Barnes, Mowbray, Deila, Strachan( though I love him now) where in any of these managers was someone you would look at and say he can take this club the next step?
We have been happy with mediocrity as a fan base and because of that the custodians have taken their quick buck and pocketed it time again because they never had to over reach, the old saying speculate to accumulate definitely doesn't exist in the parkhead boardroom.
Im sick to deaf of watching clubs like slavia Prague, Copenhagen and the like compete better on the continent than us year in year out. Tell me honestly does anyone ever go into a European game one legged or two confident we will win because we are better than the opposition in every way?
Sorry Jinky but no thanks HHYou know what - the more I think about it the more I like the thought of it.
I reckon that with the support of DD you will see a brand of footballer and style of play
that can get the supporters up off their seats (whenever they can use them again).
Maybe not every ones cup of tea but he definately gets my vote.

HH
I hope not.You know what - the more I think about it the more I like the thought of it.

As I Said before......I think Keane will not be a long term manager....because of who he is.....But...I think, if he is allowed to bring in 'his' type of players(Broonie type)......they will give the 110% fastest turnover in one season....to take us top again......then... look to the future with a different manager.....don't hang onto Keane ...then we have another Lennon scenario..............so YES for Keane for the sudden impact....I dont think he would allow them to be as lazy and unfit as lennon has allowed them to be. Also, I want us to do well in Europe. Ofcourse I do. But anyone who thinks a manager will come to us in the summer and make us a force in Europe straight away is delusional.
We need it back, it don't belong with them....and I reckon Keane is the man to sort Gerrard oot.....if they get 2 in a row....we will be angry....but a long time planner manager..... may even take longer to turn it roond....and for sure if they get 2 in a row...and champs league cash....well I dont need to say what would happen then.......We need a shake up...sudden impact ....whatever..but... no long term stuff for the future....The future is next season.....Keane can do itAs I Said before......I think Keane will not be a long term manager....because of who he is.....But...I think, if he is allowed to bring in 'his' type of players(Broonie type)......they will give the 110% fastest turnover in one season....to take us top again......then... look to the future with a different manager.....don't hang onto Keane ...then we have another Lennon scenario..............so YES for Keane for the sudden impact....
Yep....totally agree ....someone who can 'talk' to the 'soft type' players...even it out....Keane will know who he can trust.....I remember him sayin when he was leading man u out the tunnel he would shout to them...this is a war we are gladiators......we need to win....who is with me....some wern't he said....Keane would demand his players to be warriors. As long as the other coaches could develop the flair players. For Keane to work the backroom would need to be exceptional and forward thinking modern coaches. Keane would have to submit slightly and be a cog rather than a full gaffer.
As a number 2? With a top coach above him? I'd take that all day long
We only have to look back to last season and see that throwing money at the wrong man doesn’t work! The only plus I can see with Keane's appointment is that Dermot Desmond will likely sanction throwing a bit more investment at a team rebuild than he maybe would if it were any of the other candidates.
Keane's only in the running for the job because DD is fanboy of his so I can definitely see DD making more funds available to give his preferred candidate the best chance of success but other than that I see no benefit to Keane becoming Celtic manager.
That’s our problem as a club......shite bags!!If the bunnett was still here our club would not be treated with anything else than respect. Fergus would sue the lot of them for racism defamation and libel.

We didn’t get asked to sit at the back of the bus our board where happy to walk there themselves
