Been thinking about oor left back position for a long time noo....Until Tierney arrived we tried oot lots.....I really think if we get a decent Left Back signed....We will then be totally ready for the season ahead....Here is a list of Left Backs we have played in the past..

We certainly need cover/competition for Taylor as we are a bit light. That said if you played Greg Taylor or? With any of this lot up to Michael Gray. How many would you say were better than Taylor purely as a left back?
Other than 1st season of Lee Naylor I think Taylor would see most of them off.

One not mentioned in that list is Izaguirre, who I thought was tremendous when he first arrived and had a great season....bad sadly it never lasted too long

He was immense. That injury at Pittodrie did for him.

One not mentioned in that list is Izaguirre, who I thought was tremendous when he first arrived and had a great season....bad sadly it never lasted too long

Izzy never really recovered from that broken ankle at Aberdeen. I liked Valgaren and Lee Naylor was solid if unspectacular. Mulgrew played there too in the past (and again in the future if MD has his way).

Don't forget Adam Matthews played as an emergency LB in Europe. Did a pretty good job from what I remember.

Charlie had a shorter attention span than me. If he kept his shit together against Motherwell and caley thistle back in 2011, them this year would be academic, because 10 would have been safely acquired by now!

I think we mostly know Taylor is more suited as a left back but is working on his game to try and do that role as a left wing back for the 3 at the back. Remember we still have young jonston due back from injury who could maybe do that role. A new signing there and we will be grand, preference one that can play both roles

This is a position the whole of Scottish football and probably most of English football know we are struggling with.
We are reportedly looking at a 20 year old left back from Charlon Athletic who their manager does not want to sell,
Their manager said this boy is a work in progress,should we be getting involved with work in progress players at this stage when it is a more than decent left back is what we need asap ..
