random thoughts this.
Wonder if we are considering someone at Hibs?
Just thinking that with both Morgan and Allan being credibly linked with loans, and with many Celtic fans blaming partly the Hibs board for McGinn embarrassment!
I know their loans will release some of the wages funds, but maybe there is more going on behind the scenes when two decent players are being linked.
Any players there possibly fitting BR's style or PL's projects?
That aside, we are all thinking centre back and right back, but both statistically lowest goals against in the league for seasons now, and when you recall matches lost or drawn in the league this season especially, it has been the lack of goals and putting away opponents the more obvious issue.
We went several matches before Christie was picked and Calmacs role was changed both more by circumstances than design. Where we showed little to no ideas going forward. Our midfield to forward play was as boring and as predictable as I want to recall.
So having these options Burke and Weah as back up down both wings is a smart move.
Maybe it is Calmac we should be looking for cover for, for me he is our number 1 player now and may need a rest now and then.
I never rated Ralston when some fans were assuming we had another KT for the right side, and still think he is more strength than ability, but! he has shown this season when called upon even at zombie pit that he adds to that with fearless 100% passion and can shift down the wing and is a threat, so now glad to see he is not being loaned out, he deserves a chance. But then again like some others I thought Gamboa deserved more of a break than he got.
BR appears to be a ruthless type all good managers are if errors mistakes or incidents occur, then he just can not or will not see past, once he makes his mind up you are either in or out, there seems to be no mid way give or take mindset except perhaps blindly to the chosen few, unless forced by circumstances.
The only credible explanation I can imagine for the likes of Mulumbu and Gamboa who appear to have made no more errors than average and not given as fair a chance.
Have to at least wonder if Commper's claims to a German newspaper of being fit but ignored for some matches may have some partial element of truth.
Yes Mulumbu has a temperament liable for a card or two and like Gamboa he likes to play rush quick and looks for a longer pass than seems to be the dictated allowance.
But so do Broony and Lustig fit those supposed BR issues, it seems BR or perhaps it's more the rookie defence coach Kennedy with his note taking, that has blinkers for some players.
Anyway if Mulumbu has been written off like a few others! then we need cover for Broony or Calmac, as Ntcham has shown too often that he is not 100% committed reliable on match days.
