New Manager:

The whole 'Howe worked wonders on a shoestring budget' is a myth mate, maybe some truth in it when Bournemouth were working their way up the lower leagues but if being backed by Russian investment to the tune of 'almost a quarter of a billion £' is a shoestring then his shoes must be diamond encrusted!

Good read if anybody really wants to see past the myths and media hype surrounding Howe....

Yes 100% a myth

Slippy must be for the off then...

I really don't get why there is such a panic over getting Eddie Howe announced as the next potential manager.
I only would like it announced just to settle the nerves as I believe he would be a brilliant appointment for us even though nothing can be guaranteed.
Let's make no mistake the club is currently in one of the worst states on a playing side that I can ever remember with having so many of a 1st team squad that I no longer see having any future with the club.
So can we really expect a new manager to want to have any association with the likes of griff, bain, Rogic, Bitton, who I couldn't see have any involvement in the future.
You also got the likes of the disruption players who have made it clear there future lies elsewhere, Eddie, ajer, Christie, ntcham, boli and a few of the loans I would guess.
And let's not forget the expensive flops in Barkas and Ajeti.
And of course none of us have any idea where JK fits into all of this along with his sidekick Strachan junior.
At a guess I would say Dom macay is trying to sort out the tragic mess PL traitor has created and could stand to cost the club millions in buying out contracts just to clear the decks of unwanted shite.
This i hope is well been put in process now and we still have 2 weeks before the transfer window opens and the replacements can be sought.
So not much I can see any manager doing just yet, but I would say big decisions are being made behind the scenes and that Eddie Howe is and has been in place to help making such decisions. I would also say he has already a possible shortlist of players he would like to bring into the club but no announcement can be made on them either just yet.
Of course it will possibly be the busiest month of June we may ever see again, and still remain confident that it's all going to be worth the wait in the end.

Could JK be in the running as his replacement?

The thing is, it's one persons opinion over anothers. The truth being nobody knows how he'll do at Celtic, if indeed he comes to Celtic. No matter what manager comes in someone will say they're shite while others will think they're great.
I honestly don't give a shite anymore. I just want someone in to sort the mess out and given the lack of other options we've been presented with, I'll gladly accept howe for now. I might even get a t shirt printed with that on it. Howe for now!

That's kinda my point mate...people having opinions on Howe is all well and good and obviously they're entitled to them but it's the facts and the stats that give a better insight into his abilities, achievements, what he's good at, what he's not etc.

Suppose what I'm trying to say is it's smart to look beyond all the media driven hype surrounding Howe's time at Bournemouth and instead focus on the realities of it otherwise people start getting carried away and end up having unrealistic expectations of the guy.

He's a good coach I'm not disputing that but people having these overblown ideas about his abilities and achievements only leads to them having overblown expectations. All that does is heap undue pressure on Howe, his staff and the team if they don't turn things around quickly enough for those who see him as an instant fix.

Can't see how we can make comparisons shadow on a EPL manager when they are mainly judged upon there over priced transfer buys. We are not in that position and developing a whole new squad with a desire to actually want to win with a great team spirit to do so.
Every player knowing there roles within the team to maximise their potential of gaining the results that are expected which in turn will bring the success.
I strongly believe that Howe can bring in the players that are far younger and with a much greater desire to succeed and prepared to learn the requirements for the modern game.

Wish Howe all the best but I'm not sure if he's up for the pressure of managing a club of our size..he's a 43 year old boy who has never had to deal with delivering in Europe, winning every week, managing expectations of a nation...he went to Burnley who are a bigger club than Bournemouth with footballing fans who have a passion like we do and he scurried back to his safe zone at the first sign of unrest....he might have the best footballing ideas in the world but has he the personality and bottle to carry it off at Celtic??? I hope so but have my doubts

He managed in the EPL for a team with low expectations.....I'd prefer someone who jumps at the chance to manage us

Any manager or player coming into the club will come with risk, and not every player is going to be a success either.
A lot will depend on how much ambition our club has now as I would certainly think that Howe would have the ambition to succeed.
I can't see European success being high on the agenda as can't see us being in a position to really challenge strongly next season in Europe.
The main priority should be the league campaign and looking to really challenge the following season by gaining automatic entry into the group stages of the CL.
I would say a realistic plan has been set out and any real success in Europe would be very much an added bonus imo
