My thoughts exactly M7 any decent manager who is no patsy will win the title back. Lenny lost the dressing room and he had not enough senior players to back him having gotten rid of our big characters end experienced players in Hayes, Gordon even Lustig. Ronny Deila would win this title back. The board have taken a lot of flak rightly so but they did finance the squad if somewhat blindly and misinformed they kept our best players. The board dont play , the players lost the title partly due to piss poor management and a manager with his hands tied behind his back. We all know that was not the Lennon we all know and love you could see it in the dead rubber defeat at ibrox from the get go. I do think that Celtic will be back a hell of a lot quicker than we are expected to from SMSM and the rest underestimate a wounded Celtic at your peril. HH

I am just as perplexed, worried about Ange P as the rest of us. I do think that his experiences in Asia and Australia are being dismissed as not good enough though which is unfair imo. A decent Celtic side would do well to win the J -League. Chinas league signings rival any club or continent in the world and would exceed them had the Chinese government not stepped in the prices being paid for players was obscene by European standards even. Sorry winter, but this trying to make comparisons with wim Jensen is way off the mark with all the changes that have happened over the past 23 years.
My point johnno was in response to salop celt saying he couldnt pick him out of a line up, and that reminded me that Jansen was an unknown to the vast majority of us just as Ange P is. I remember being somewhat underwhelmed at Jansens appointment. I've never heard of the Ange P until this story broke so I'm not in a position to criticise or praise any qualities he may or may not have. None of us will know for years the full story behind Howe but I'm pretty sure and even more so hopefull this was lawells last throw of the dice due to what we'd been informed of about the selection process a while back , in that the new managers selection would be made by lawell , the board , and with some input from McKay. I dont believe for a minute that without the certain people Howe wanted he is unable to form a management team. That would put his abilities in question for me. I think that we will see this soon enough when he gets a job down south. Howe was never a box office name imo anyway. The sooner McKay has control the better because lawell has made one gaff after another after another after another to the extent that the next CEO could be yourself and do a better job. I wont write Ange P off because I've never heard of him though. The same thing happened to Arsenal when they appointed Wenger from the J-league no one knew who he was but he brought unparalleled successes. I wouldnt expect that level of success from any manager we appoint but expectations are massively high at a time when we are at our weakest in over a decade. All of us have to acknowledge just how far off the pace weve fallen as digger said the other day. The new manager will need a thick skin to say the least but if hes tactically aware and can man manage well, then with the players who will still be at his disposal theres no reason why he cannot re-unite the squad and retake our title from the least successful ' winning ' manager old or newco have ever had HH
