Celtic v Ferencvaros - All comments here

I thought as an after thought big Giakoumakis did really well when he came on and I can see goals in this boy as well. Thought he really helped hold the baw up and had good movement as well . Great substitutions today ...I really want to see more of Scales I think he is composed and looks a player .

Cannae work out why Scales hasn't been given a run in the team yet M7....in the brief glimpses we've seen of him so far he's looked far more composed and comfortable in that LB slot than Montgomery imo.

Nothing against Montgomery, there is talent there for sure, but right now at a time when the team is in such a transition and trying to find it's feet I think he's just a bit too raw and inexperienced to be starting as many games as he is.

Fan bloody tastic Celtic.

Score flattered our old Hungarian friends, fortunately our one or 2 defensive lapses weren't punished this time.

Again young Tony produced a goal saving tackle, although prior to that he looked nervous in possession, but good to see him in amongst it when it got heated, well done again Tony.

Dont want to go on about everyone cause Sandman does it better, but when Jota produced that pass I screamed, "magic notebook" then had to explain wtf i was on about 🤣🤣🤣.

Motm was Notebook for me, but a big shout out to Ange for his tactics and realising we get more out of the Ferrymhan further forward, hope to see more of Bitton in midfield for us, who knew he could play there eh 👋👋👋
Tony the tim has mistakes in him but some of the last ditch tackles hes made this season have changed the possible result of games
As ange says it’s not the mistake he judges but the reaction to them
He’s not the best there is but Anyone trying to take his shirt has a job
Great performance all round
You can pick holes but what’s the point when you win 2-0

I think fir that we’ve just got to trust the managers judgement
He’ll get his chances when the big man thinks he’s ready
Going from shamrock to celtic is a big step up

Did not see all the game but what I saw was good the first goal was a pleasure to watch and Turnball put a lot of effort to get the second big Joe covering goal and his defence with Calmac pushing forward the new players beginning to knit into the team to me bodes well for the future, well done CELTIC

I'm with you on this on Shadow as I think potentially John no and the Deadner are as well. They are to my mind proving to be right about the potential and readiness of Scales as they are more aware of this boy from the Irish League ...defo like what I see.

I hear ye STG it's the manager's call at the end of the day and yer right it is a big step up for Scales coming from Shamrock to Celtic....that said Montgomery was still playing for the Celtic reserves while Scales was a first team regular for Shamrock so it's a big step up for both players.

I reckon Scales deserves a crack at it sooner rather than later {and definitely before Taylor comes back from injury) as from what we've seen of him so far he seems to have both the composure and the physicality that Montgomery is lacking a bit just now and we could certainly do with a bit more physicality in the team right now.

Like STG says we've got to trust AP's judgement on this one for now I suppose mate as he sees them in training day in day out but with Taylor out injured and Montgomery still a bit raw to be a regular starter I cannae think of a better time to give Scales a crack at it!

Could have been a lot more goals if we'd attack more on the break ,countless times the day we stopped and cut back the way allowing them to regroup ,we need to get ruthless with teams

kyogo was excellent , starbar ,,,,a give up ,,,, onto saturday

It's one of those Shadow where some think young Monty is the better option ...think the young man is terrific but for sure he can't play every game and his inexperience comes to the fore at times but that's OK.. As you say Ange sees them in training so we have to go with his choices ..just think we are fortunate to have Scales and if he gets a chance he could be impressive. So your spot on . 👍🇮🇪

i agree but coming from celtic reserves last season and having a full pre season with the manager is likely tipping the scales .... i know
you can see its a step up for montgomery too, hes inconsistent but he has good games

scales came with a great write up which is heartening.
i just read a lot of people on here that think he should be in ahead of the managers picks but
they've only seen what an hour of him
Ange has seen him every day since he signed

this thing we celtic fans have, if he's newer he must be better

Just returned from game, thought first half was two mediocre teams cancelling each other out but the second half was a totally dominant performance from us. Could easily have been 4 or 5.
Jota got MOTM at the game, and given he was the game changer you cant argue with that, but thought Carter-Vickers was very good, as was Starfelt (barring one brain fart in the last
couple of minutes). Turnbull had his best game in weeks and big Giakoumakis looked a handful when he came on. All in all a great result and a good performance, roll on Saturday which will be tougher against a team that sit with their whole team behind the ball.
