the new year derby

ffs thats 1 person for every 130 seats

i'm all for public safety but thats too far

i'd rather they cancelled it or had nobody
Cop26 the euros ...and we had no boosters at that point and she did nothing ...it reeks of panic and double standards. And if anything it will create more larger gatherings in households/pubs and people will now cram in all their socialising over the next 6 days in the lead up to Xmas. I am also all for public health and have followed all the rules and had all my jags. If they really were serious then all games should have been cancelled and the unpopular lockdown reinstated. A shambles yet again imo.

Shes making a mockery of the whole vaccination process now

She's not getting the money from London or we would be in lockdown and pubs shut
If your going to do anything, do that, its proven it works, the rest is just tinkering to show they are doing something, the big events being hit shows politically the maximum impact measures are taken

for me its lockdown or bust, whats the point of ignoring clearly the most useful tool to fight covid

i'd imagine there will be loads of people now thinking, whats the point of the vaccinations/booster when your still restricted

i just cannot understand how you can go away from the clear scientific advice, outside is a country mile better than being inside, yet the restrictiona imposed say differently

FFS ... totally expected this back in the summer....gutted the fans can't be at the big game but it is what it is....it's not just a Scottish thing either...it's happening Europe wide

Do the right thing and shut it down for a month

Yes 100%, there are teams that need the crowds for the income.
For the SPFL to carry on would be deriliction of their duties, the restrictions could be lifted byt he time we hit a winter shutdown, it make no sense otherwise

I for one don't want to watch any game of football with no crowd, fuck that, i don't care who is playing, its not football. You want to hear supporters not players and coaches

She shud have showed some leadership a month ago knowing omicron was rampant but once again she reacts once the worst has already happened

Spot on

theres plenty on here dont think that either, for me this is not really about a Celtic v Rangers game, it just doesnt make logical sense to me
No its about shite leadership it's not about the hun game its about all the games all season ticket holders got double vaxxed n passports sorted they shud be able to Into any stadium

Bottom line is, everything has a starting point, and its been clear for weeks now that all governments wanted folks to have a relatively normal xmas otherwise there wuda been uproar.
Once that was out of the way, this stuff was always gonna kick in str8 away.
Me? I would just play the games regardless of fan attendance, get them played and out of the way, otherwise we’re gonna have another declare the league scenario, and u ain’t gonna hear Sevco or their rabid fans arguing for anything different.
Its tough times, that need tough decisions, I certainly wouldn’t be an MP in the current climate trying to keep folk happy and safe at the same time. If it all seems a bit unorganised , its probably because it is, no government in living memory has had to deal with such a fluid situation, throw into the mix the general public who complain like bitches but at the same time won’t do what their told, and you’ve got an impossible situation.
Play the games s long as we are able.
What will be will be.

Scot Gov can do very little on their own as they do not control the financial levers to allow them to borrow what they need and spend it how they want. If we had those powers then the whole pandemic would have been very different in Scotland. We only get funding to help businesses or fund furlough when Westminster decide they want to do it in England. And unfortunately we have the worst possible prime minister at the worst possible time.
