Transfer Rumours

He shouts a lot! I like him because he is effective. If your are old enough to remember Pat Jennings......then you'll have an idea of his style. He is also very decent with his feet, but his main attribute is that he barks instructions to the back line.
He has a number of under-21 international caps.....and if he is still playing in Slovakia next season I will be very surprised!
Huge assest, being willing to organise a defence, too many 'keepers too quiet. I remember Jennings but I think he was at the end of his career when I got into football with Mexico 86, I've seen a lot of clips over the years. High praise!
How is he with cross balls and holding shots? see a lot of parries and sometimes it looks like he could hold rather than deflect, is that a weakness or is he sound?

How would you rate our young keepers that could be up and coming Niall.
Not so sure hazard will really make the breakthrough with us still and the back up of Bain and Barkas wouldn't fill you with confidence either, so could still be a position that should be addressed but doesn't seem high as a priority still

This is an interesting one Johnno, it's one I'm going to cover during the winter break on TCS. On one hand it looks like the club have a plan, Joe Hart sees out his contract and Tobi Oluwayemi is highly enough thought of that should he continue his development he's the number one.
That's fine, but of the other 'keepers Bain is the number two and you'd assume the plan is to retain him (good lad in changing room apparently for what it's worth) and if he has to fill in for a game or two for injury and suspension I think we can absorb it, my worry is Hart is ever out for two to three months, can we absorb that? Possibly not.
Barkas is probably a good 'keeper at some level but I can't see how his confidence can be restored at Celtic to get back to what encouraged us to sign him. That's a shame but some people can't handle our game or our club and he looks finished at Celtic.
Hazard looks an ordinary 'keeper - a number three, my feeling on that is he's young so get him out on loan somewhere, shop window him or find himself a bit and we judge from there. In truth Mullen in the B team impressed me more and I doubt he has a future so it doesn't bode well for Hazard.
So I think we do need to consider another 'keeper and that's why I was interested in the lad Prague posted about yesterday, I liked the initial look to him and he might be worth putting out there. Problem is a new 'keeper as you said is probably far from a priority, but if Hart got injured would hindsight say it should have been? Would it cost us points?
We also need to balance what we've told Oluwayemi and would another 'keeper put his nose out of joint, possibly not if we punted Hazard, Barkas and Bain but then we need takers and we'd have to be satisfied who we get is better with little track record for finding 'keepers of late. It's a tough call. Personally I think we'll see movement there but not enough of it to justify a new guy until the summer window.

It looks like we are heading into fairies at the bottom of the garden season.
Anybody who wants to listen to the Roald Dahl of the Southside pull up a chair and listen
to the history of sevco,a name not familiar with a lot of people but some peepul believe there is 150 years of history associated with this name, none more so than their previous South African chairman who now has 84m shares but still only owns 16% of this footbal club.
This would entitle anybody to believe sevco were a wealthy football club but are in fact once again on skid row as they have been in the past..
We will shortly hear a cry for volunteer bucket rattlers or maybe even another share issue proposal sent to the inbox of the loyal sevco followers hoping to keep the lights on for another few weeks..

Thanks for that assessment Niall, and think it sounds better having Bain as the number 2 still as I would have given the vote to Barkas

Barkas looked shit hot in his you tube clips. Wouldn't go by them at all. Best look on his club fan sites , see what their fans say about him

I read earlier that GVB is keeping tabs on a guy - 18 years old and I think he is Spanish - who has a release clause of £4M and then they can let Arsefield go. Christmas must have brought a special brew of Deludamol!

I also read that 9 of their players are out of contract at the end of the season - so who in their right mind is going to buy them?
Heard the reason the nine are out of contract is because at the moment their on silly money and guess who won't resign them at the same or higher rate

Yokohama FM / Daizen Maeda, Celtic Loan Transfer Definitively ... With purchase option
(From Sports Hochi Football in Japan)

Fee agreed for permanent move in the summer, 200 million yen (£1.3m)
Is there a reason why we don't just buy him outright to start with? I suppose this safeguards him in case he doesn't settle or fails, but the cost is so relatively small that it is not that much of a risk for us compared to 90%+ of the rest of our purchases.

Let’s hope this is the start Gary67 Ange needs backing and the team needs more Japanese steel in it and any other recruits Ange needs
