It’s time now…

I obviously had too much time on my hands today and went back and read that whole Ukraine thread. I know! I know!
Something like 55 pages there are some not so nice comments but overall there are are a raft of differing opinions shared without any real conflict. One or two lost their patience within that and there is a wee bit of bad language.
Anyway I hope CR is well and hope we can all play well together. There’s none of us perfect.
For me the noise is an enjoyable forum which allows me, and I think most of us to chat easily, on Celtic or any other subjects. HH

If you thought that 55 page Ukraine thread was interesting, and you have some time to kill, try the independence thread or for mother of all threads, in my opinion the best thread EVER oan the noise……the earth is flat thread…..
 
First of all I'm saddened to see rose has left. I found her posts very interesting and informative.
However I understand why she left and I know when she started this thread she certainly wasn't looking sympathy off anyone, she was merely saying goodbye to anyone who was interested.
She got abused (for want of a better word) for her opinions on the situation in Ukraine. A lot of what she said was right(My opinion) if you took the time to look into it. She is an aged woman who has lived her life and I took her side not only because I agreed with a lot of what she said and her right to say it, but she reminded me of my mother. Which then led me to take her side even more strongly.
As I've said before I've grown up in a conflict, something that has been thrown back at me in a piss taking "oh here we go again" manner on here. But I don't give a shit what anyone says to me, because I've seen shit that a lot of people on here will never see. Being witness to a lot of this shit I also know the bullshit which is reported on the news. That's what propaganda is for. There's three sides to every story.
I don't post that much anymore for the same reasons rose felt that she had to leave. But I've been through a hell of a lot in my life and I'm too stubborn a fucker to let anyone cause me to leave anywhere.
I know why she left, the people who caused her to leave know exactly why she left and no amount of definitions of this that and the other will change my opinion on that. I will always stand up for the oppressed and I don't give a shit what anyone thinks of me.
I hope you read this rose and I hope you change your mind and come back to the noise as I truly enjoyed our conversations.

I’m not looking for anything like sympathy or attention as I’ve been accused of before. I just believe it’s manners to explain why I will not be on here from now on.

I have had a few breaks away since the uproar caused on the Ukraine thread because my view differed from some on here. I believe in free speech and thought maybe after some time away that all would be well, but that was not the case at all but to be honest it’s best left there.

On a positive note I have had many messages of support during the difficult times on here and I very much appreciate those kind words and the support offered.

As some of the members who were here when I joined knew my reasons for joining as Pat my late husband had supported Celtic all his life and I regret so much not going with him to all the matches, although in those days only a few women went but still a regret, but being on here I suppose kept me close to his other love of his life.

It feels that I’m out of kilter so to speak now on this forum can’t do right for wrong and still getting underhand hidden insults and so it’s way past my time to leave this group but a special mention to smg who made it possible for me and my friend to get to Celtic park earlier this year a dream come true for me. To Kelly who helped with a stream to make it possible for me to see the football thank you. To SP who welcomed me and made me welcome even although I didn’t have an indepth knowledge of football. And Shammy will keep you all on track with her her hockey stick.
To all those who tried to help and even to those who said nothing in the heat of the storm and after.

You're right Ally, this is a Celtic forum but we have the divergence of General Chat to discuss many topics, be it pets, cars, jinery work or jokes.
I would encourage folk to continue posting on this particular thread because it better helps us understand about how to agree/disagree with other people's opinions on any subject without being nasty, without resorting to name-calling and without valued members feeling that they have to leave. I think many of us need to learn how to leave a topic alone or at least have a different approach when 'debating' a subject with someone. Folk say things on here to others that they wouldn't say face to face but that's social media for you.

Keep the thread and let every single one of us learn from it.
