A transfer, clickbait, football news of any kind & in general just whats on your mind thread

Reading this piece this morning from yesterdays Celtic Star.
Fascinating insight into the mind of Ange Postecoglou, how meticulous he can be and how that led to Harry Kewell arriving at CP.

Open Goal: “Why doesn’t someone give me an opportunity?” Ange on his Kewell logic via @OneFootball. Read it here:

Think it's a brilliant gauge of Ange thinking, Celtic, football.
Hes keeping tabs personally, not just on players but coaches and anyone with the right attitude and abilities for the job he's got in mind.
Attitude , seems to be essential for Ange.
The togetherness - chemistry, between the bhoys amongst the squad is visibly fun to see, and watch.
They're all really enjoying their time at Celtic.
Excited by what's coming. Hungry.
Ange is adding good players but good players with good character and good pedigree coaches with good character.
No prima donna's , everyone will get their chance.
Have no worries about that domestically, the squads buzzing and our substitutes are of real quality standard and could easily have started the game type of player coming on.
Some couple of weeks coming up ,
Can feel the tingling beginning .
Got to focus on Ross County and what the **k has been going on with my predictor results this season , I'm just in front of Kelly , FOCUS!

Terrific post Winter. I think all of us are experiencing that tingling you're feeling.
I think it's true to say we are all truly delighted with the start Ange has made to his Celtic career. How could we not be ?
We are all aware of the circumstances which brought Ange to our club; the whole period pre-Ange was something of an embarrassment. As things stand we find our status as champions restored. Even standing alone, that is a spectacular achievement in such a short time.
But he has done much more than that; he has also brought a very welcome, dignified approach to his role with us, and the game in general. There's no ego.
Like most of you good folk, I can only see things getting better. I've no problem admitting to being surprised at the progress achieved.....so far. Equally, it's to be expected we may experience a dip in form from time to time. If that doesn't happen, then, brilliant. If it does, Ange will not only cope, he'll guide the players through it.
Another thing I find pleasing about the man is the fact that, not only is he a terrific coach, he's also a terrific human being. We are blessed.

Yeah Frank , a terrific human being is right on the money.
He surrounds himself with other good human beings who are also extremely talented at what they do and he inspires them.
9-0 away to united , some of his first post match interview words were in solidarity with Jack Ross and his teams situation, how hes struggled himself and just taking the time to give a few words of empathy was a terrific gesture.
There was no gloating. No waxing lyrical.
He doesnt give anything away in his interviews but inside he mustve been bursting with pride and really over the moon with that performance and scoreline.
The biggest away victory in our 134 year old history , to come here and do that, like that, astounding , how it was done.
I rate it higher than the 9-0 against Aberdeen at CP, not because its away, because of the manner in which it was achieved.
It had echoes of Celtic's great, great sides in there.
Of course it would, being our best ever away win.
Over all the countless generations of Tims we are the blessed ones who get to see it.
His post match comments about
"it's the team we want to be, it's not just about the football we want to play"
“It’s about the intent and we don’t want to be led by the scoreboard or whatever the circumstances of the game are.
With respect to whether it’s the first or the last minute, or whether we’re winning or not, we want to play at a certain tempo and intensity.”
Everything just feels right with Ange at the helm.
Aye the excitement is ripping oot me Frank.
I'm trying to keep my feet on the ground and focus on what's coming, Ross County, another tough fixture at this stage of the league cup.
We don't, even as fans , have much time to dwell upon it, the games come thick and fast now.
Certainly be revisiting and reliving it later though.
His influence reaches out to the support as much as the team, you know that when we're all focused solely on Ross County 😀 COYBIG! HH! 🍀

On a serious note about his replacement, i would have to think United must be looking at Malky Mackay.
After Countys awful awful start last season he steered them into the top 6.
Not sure just how much further than that He can take Ross County with what he has at his disposal but at United he would have better options youd think.
If offered the job I think Mackay would jump at it

Would be amazed if united were to offer such a horrible fuck one of the better jobs in Scottish football myself winter.
Bought in a lot of players into dross cunty and couldn't see United paying compensation for such an eejit either imo

Surprised by the Parker sacking I must admit.
Can tend to be bit of a knee jerk reaction to such a bad result imo.
Remember Southampton losing at home 9-0 to Leicester not so long ago and hardly turned out to badly for them either after that so far
It is because of his poor start rather than just the 9-0 loss. You see he won the opener (OK, only against Slippy's Villa) then lost the next three games - only against bloody top-of-table Arsenal and two of the best sides in world football, Man City and Liverpoo!!!! The mind boggles.

I think his complaints about lack of strengthening of his side (5 additions to his Championship team) is probably more to do with his sacking as he is pointing out the lack of support he has received so far. The big boys don't like having their failings pointed out.

Would agree had to be more to it than just 1 bad result especially against such a strong team with a point to prove.
Seeing him watching Nottingham forest throwing money about like hun confetti may have narked him but also a very dangerous approach taken by forest especially if it goes tits up for them

I dont know if anyones posted this already , if they have , apologies.
Since were talking all things Sead, I was looking at this clip of him, showing his talents.
I must admit that I thought he looked overweight and might take time to get into Celtic shape/stamina/performance levels etc but seeing him here he looks like a bit of a meatier player anyway.
If he can produce this kind of form for Celtic, taking on players and whipping in decent crosses from distance.
It might not take as long as I first imagined before we see him.

First clips I've watched of him he looks after the ball brilliantly loves a dribble aswell he looks perfect fit for us as for needing time to get upto speed his game looks along same lines of orielly and hatate not scared to take his man on and also not scared of close contact from the opponent he will fit rite in and there's not a huge hurry to get him upto speed either so Ange can bed him on properly looks another fine edition for next to no money happy days 😁

Will be interesting to see what role has in mind for hako as most of the clips shown seemed to have him more on the left side of the attack moreso than the right, especially when I would have thought we would have been looking for him to play imo cairnsbhoy
