Craig Gordon

Ouch!
Met him in the Universal off Sauchiehall St a few years back. Seemed nice enough then but we'd all had a few to be fair. Craig Burley was there too. Now there's a t!t
Craig Burley was up in Dundee with Fabrizio Ravanelli for a wee while.

Tried to approach him one night, but he was an arrogant so -and-so and wasn't having it.

Still gets kudos for 97-98 though.

I'd let Gordon go in a heartbeat! He's a fine shot-stopper for sure but Packie was the ultimate shot-stopper with class and aggression thrown in just for the sheer fuckoffishness of it! If it wasn't for the back-pass he would have been Tommy's keeper too. Never understood his devotion to the chunky chicken Marshall.
Gordon has reflexes but after these long years feeling dread at disastrous kick-outs, enuf is more than enuf!
Boruc and especially Forester were unbelievable real keepers we acquired, incredible keepers!
As for Gordon, I'd rather give the Bhoy Hazard a chance before I have to shit meself so many times in 90mins? Tell him to start searching for somewhere else for his retirement

I doubt Jim McLean kept anyone around who he didn't rate. Though he did strike me as quite the Presbyterian
Hahaha and then some.

He just didn't know goalkeeping, Niall.

He didn't know that it was more than just being tall and moderately athletic.

He lucked out with Hamish and it was indignity that brought up Billy Thompson.

My days were numbered when I turned up for training in Celtic shorts (umbro had just started putting the badge on the replica shorts) after the 85 Scottish Cup Final.

Right the only keeper I can think of bar Billy Thomson and McAlpine at United around that time was Scott Thomson (I was only 9 in '85 mind you) and he wasn't til 87 ish I think, so if you are not him I'll let you keep your anonymity and sleep on it :)
If you got one of those 4 by 4 contracts you must have been well chuffed!

Big Packie, came to my primary school and i remember thinking just how lovely he spoke, not what he said because it was nice, but his accent.

Lovely man and even nicer considering my primary was in the bronx of coatbridge lol

Wee jum collected keepers for fun.

For the record, Scott Thompson was by far the best keeper they had and an absolute gentleman.

Far too intelligent and sensible for a goalkeeper though.

At one point, he had Hamish, John Gardener, Scotty, Alan Main and Billy Thompson all on the books.

All decent enough boys, but 5 into 1 doesn't go. JG went to Aberdeen and ST was far too opinionated for jum. Alan Main stole my bird when I went down south, but he gets a pass on that because I'd got married by the time I found out.
