I understand your response to the use of bad language and the points you make but to encompass the words for the sake of it ? Again your point on the feelings that are evoked at times yes to a certain extent I can understand but to go into a rant and overuse them I don't know and I will not walk away if people felt I was wrong
I hear what you’re saying too. I don’t like over use as it can detract from what is written, but it can also add so there is a balance. Using certain words to attack people on here I don’t agree with, calling them certain things can be aggressive and threatening and I think arguments don’t need to descend into that. As I said on another thread, calling someone a hun because you don’t agree with them
Is worse than calling me a cunt. That’s just me and I have responded to that in an angry way in the past. I tend not to now but I couldn’t have a go at someone who lost the plot with that as I have done that too.
It’s a matter of balance. I hate bans on certain discussions, focus on words used as opposed to what us being said. These words are just words andcare part of everyday communication. There is an old fashioned Puritan attitude to their use that I despise as it’s effectively hypocritical as everybody uses them. Words aren’t bad, they may be innapropriate at certain times, but in a forum about our team, which can be emotive is not one of those times is my view.
I’m sure the ignore button could be employed by people who are offended. The offended should never be allowed to have the upper hand though in what is discussed, what is written or how it is written. Self censorship is ok. Dont read stuff that irks you. That’s your choice. Don’t make it a rule to be mine or anybody else’s. That’s my position.
