Dom mckay and the new engagment with fan media

Dom mentioned he'd doubled the revenues at Scottish rugby.

If he can even come close to that with us, the sevconian zombies will be changing their bedsheets on a very regular basis.
Disclaimer 1st I'm not saying the following will happen only it could.....
Look at the revenue jump from man u when the americans came in and pumped the commercial side of the business the 1st billion dollar football club again not sayin we could reach that but there is certainly markets we haven't entered and to expand on your across the city comment they have a small minded business and have pumped every penny outta that section let's be honest who around the world loves the brits ? No c%&t but we have irish immigrants everywhere especial America and guess what thats where dom done his apprenticeship and could go back as he know the market while football is picking up there....sorry for long rant lad god bless

trouble is the market for scottish football is weak and getting weaker the bigger the tv companies grow their own select markets

and on top of that Celtic fans in foreign countries are usually the poor people in the bottom 20 percent of market which basically is the non commercially viable regions who often cant afford to buy from the markets that could make a difference

So despite having many who love the celtic philosophy they are also usually from the non capitalistic markets and those customers usually deal in black markets and pirate markets and usually would rather watch a free stream than pay, usually because they dont have any significant money to spare

There may be markets that are unexploited but you need capitalists to exploit them markets properly and they usually exploit your product for their own gain.

26 people

the richest 26 people in world

now thats less than 1 single decker bus load

OWN more than the poorest 50 percent on planet

that poorest 3.5 billion collectively own pretty much zip individually

thats a huge untapped market

sadly they cant afford their daily bread in most cases

That is very hard to argue with mate we have got to put our trust in a guy who does this and has proven to grow businesses in markets I think are harder to achieve results in, I agree it's not an easy phone call and their is fans here who use streams but still buy 65 quid tops so not all is a lost cause and it's still worth exploring these avenues see what's out there and what structures could be put in place for our club to capitalize on.. great point though cheers mate god bless

As much as I agree with the figures most people are still eaten and buying cars and houses and every other needles toy we are not standing in line for 2nd hand fish on a Friday now mate,
there is cases where people have ended up in dire need ofcourse but let's face facts thers still money out there to be tapped into and that's what I'm talking about really, what you're on is commendable very honourable but thats a whole other thread and topic your opening up there chief...god bless

I am certain there is money to be exploited

But i very much doubt it will be significant enough to compete with the burgher meister projects and the 1 billion and growing tv bungs every 10 years for the low end on the Cable tv league spectrums

The capitalist way will never succeed imo unless you are in the burghermeister club with the full superficial cabal and the black prawn mcnoodle men getting their slice

And i suspect they control both ends of that candle already

But thats the way the world has blown for a while

Perhaps a collapse will have a similar effect to the tulip bubble effect

some people back in the day thought exploiting the tulip market would lead to world domination, however they didnt take into consideration the collapse of that superficial market and the ramifications for those caught holding superficially high priced tulips when the bulb market imploded

you feel like your falling behind if you dont jump on the bubble

but if your on the bubble when it bursts you dont have a club

And only the burghermeisters know when the bubble will burst for their maximum profit

If you follow the pied piper you might end up down a big dark hole like the zombies did

And then you need the superficial light just to believe it didnt actually happen

unless you can afford the best of the best mercenaries you will never win the superficial game

So why no just do it the celtic way instead

train locals to be the best they can be and take on the superficial ones with their padlock system and win the big cup with a bag of rags from scotland

bringng hope and joy to all those who are oppressed

I take your points, Craig, and if there is an opportunity to turn a buck in these developing markets, then I'm all for a bit of external investment.

The only issue I personally have with it, is that it kinda highlights what the Celtic boardroom has been all about for the last couple of decades - how they exploit any and all markets in order to enhance the bottom line?

Don't get me wrong, it's the same thing that motivates every board of every club, but every last one of them have lost their collective senses while trying to scramble for every penny they can siphon fae the fans.

I almost harken for the days when the Whites and Kellys were just shysters, conmen, corruptibles and bullshitters.........nah, scrub that - I'll never get nostalgic for those clowns.

It's just a dick waving exercise, Cairnsy. These groups like the mere mortal fans to know that their opinions and counsel are more important. It's secret squirrel stuff because it's obviously critical club stuff they're talking about: the cost of pies, fixing the flusher in the toilets etc.....but it leaks out eventually, because they love to let the commoners know that their group has some skin in the game.
Cheers for that pal

Well mckay said he's worked In Asia and Australia surely he will tap into revenue streams from that side of the world and the excitement in oz for ange can only be a good thing

I dont know what the general feeling is on here I just got allowed to post yestarday so I've not went through the site so if I'm repeating anything I apologise for wasting you good Tim's time this fine Saturday....However!
I watched the 67 hail hail video on youtube with our gaffer and the new CEO, and I was very happy not with the clarity of answers at times but I believe some of those answers just cant be given just now but the engagement with our nucleus of the celtic family no longer do we need to buy a daily record to get our ceo or gaffers views and for me this is a sign I hope of the "modernisation" that McKay kept talking about our fan base had almost been held in contempt in recent years and for our new charges to put us front and centre would be highly beneficial for us as fans and the club as a whole....what do you all think of this new direction
Can go along with most of it Craigc, just a wee bit on your spelling. I'm sure the rag you're referring to is, retard, not record?

I can appreciate that your responses are well thought out and these opinions are clearly something you hold dear,
but for me expanding markets on a set budget will not put our club at risk of the bubble bursting and and the club becoming a Phoenix company
I think you're conflating alot of points here capitalism or socialism for a start theres no magic wand here but to hand over freedoms to a body that will outright govern us when we have seen how easy it is to corupt humans never mind the structures that have been put in place to run our countries for me is a crazy idea,
We need to get back to a local community based system where these communities can run and help each individual community as and where it needs it I'm sure we can agree theres not a 1 size fits all to solve this problem but if we get people to start caring about more than what's just behind their own front door communities could thrive in a capitalist system,
Is it corupt yes but it's the human element of greed and the overwhelming need to succeed that's makes it easier for the 1% to control the little man who may make that difference but now is controlled by the good old boys club, it's a societal problem where our mind sets are set to selfish, its us and ours no1 now and no3 but back years ago the population was less well off but there was a community who served to make sure old mags was fed etc...

Anyway back onto the actual point of this thread their is certainly markets we could exploit and enrich out club that needs to be done in a clear and deliberate way where we are not risking our history, tradition and good name on the world stage these things can be achieved we broke 100m on a small island run by the powers who are against us because we are against them! We have to try, it would be sheer neglect of the board duties not to try keep us grown and "mondernize" our structures. Cheers mate

Again Craig, another outstanding response with very little there to disagree about.

I'm a dreamer though and how good would it be if we went into these 'markets' and just charmed them all with the love of the game and the principles upon which we were founded upon?

On the subject of being a dreamer, most of mine involve Shammy wearing her Hiawatha outfit and singing 'take me, I'm yours'

Mate I get the overall feeling for me I'm just hoping this will be the change upstairs and in the dressing room is what our club needed Ange wont mix his words and take heat for the board if they have promised him stuff and dont deliver he wont lay his head on that block I believe his moral compass is directed towards the fans as he knows that is the true heart beat of a club and he wants to leave legacies in clubs with tradition our club gives him that and a spring board to other should he deliver that is, as for mckay we have to sit back and watch with a close eye and if the fan engagement is a thing that keeps happening be ready to question any moves we dont either want or agree with.

No apology necessary brother, it's just our upbringing, having it rammed down our throats for so many years!
Almost like having the Kartrashians totally misspelt
