How I spent my weekend

Oooh. Nice. I miss my VW Westfalia -- a great camper which I gave up in the late '80s when my wife took ill.

What I do on weekends: Watch Celtic and invariably do some rabble-rousing: There are always political events and actions taking place in this area nearly every day (in fact, right now I'm waiting for a Democratic Socialists of America branch meeting to start). When I'm not doing either of those, I walk/hike around the redwoods -- lucky for me the big trees are about 1/2 mile from my house.
Larry, Richard Dawkins, stated in his book the greatest show on earth, that the Redwood Forrest, all ot the trees when fully grown are the same size regardless of the level they sit on the slope, he claimed this was so that all tress could reach the sunlight and all would benefit greatly from this with no competition for the light, all equal and no greed, the redwood socialist trees society sounds good to me.

A week-end kayaking on the ocean with the missus ? I think I've got that beat .

Tesco followed by Morrisons followed by Iceland , then to finish off the day , a wee trip to lidl !
And the best thing about it ? With the missus !

And as a treat , she is letting me take her to Dunelms tomorrow to pick out a new duvet !
Beat that for excitement ! LOL !

Aw man........can you no detour past Dundee and pick up me and the cat?
Just thought it might be fun to hear what we do for fun on days off
Keep it clean ;-)
used to run a kayak instruction busoness, been kayaking for more than 20 years and love nothing better than to get out for a paddle
Pic is from a couple of years ago, with my gorgeous wife
I taught loads of people, how to ocean kayak/paddle properly, always fun and have great memories, of being out on the water with my family
This weekend, I travelled on the 'Highway of Tears' a very sad. solemn story of that place, in Northern BC
OK, that's it for now
Anyone else want to share ?
Mrs. D wouldn't happen to have any sisters, would she???

Yes, that is true. Sequoia sempervirens (the Latin name) are pretty fascinating trees (as far as trees can be fascinating, that is), with great resilience to the elements (especially fire). There are two forests near my house -- one about a half-mile up the road and the other about 6 miles north of me -- and both have great guides who know just about everything there is to know about the trees. It's one of those jobs (park ranger) which I think is really cool and wish I could do.
