shape is still so weak. imo
2 cb with brown too far away from safe clean passes to midfield or fullbacks.
Although midfield a little bit more mobile its still too far from save clean passing into space.
And front 7 (I realise thats an exaggeration but at times its almost a line of 7 but over 30 yards away from back 3 (counting brown as defender)
the huge missing gap in centre of midfield plus the starting positions every attack of WB/FB means the defence usually need to create space with dodgy interposing under press or bend ball round presser 30 yards + and hope the opposition dont nick it and create mayhem with overexerted running backwards trying to regroup and cover their planned counters
overly risky and yet creates very little since the inevitable long balls wide, even if they connect have defenders in place to block threat
imo
our problems stem from poor central midfield and too high starting position for wide defenders coupled with poor space utility from forwards mainly cause our midfield are cramping out the spaces too far from ball

Welch and ajer look a better set up in defence and seeing as we've got a right back who knows how to play right back i fully expect lennon to take him off bring on duffy and stick ralston up front
