The others have shown they can do it frankDone it, counted to ten that is. Thing is, I don't really feel too much different than I did at the full time whistle. I still can't say it was a complete shock.
Maybe I'm an overly cautious individual, but I've found it difficult to get caught up in the feeling everything was fine in Paradise.
Don't get me wrong, I've been happy with the progress we've made so far. But for me it's only the beginning of a great deal of hard graft to overturn the malaise which has entrenched itself in our club in the last year or so.
As for the additions to our squad, I'm not going to slaughter anyone, but the only two I feel confident about are our Japanese bhoy and big Joe between the sticks. It's really down to the others to show if they have what it takes to succeed at our club. I sincerely hope most of them do.
Take your point Smg, but my assessment of the squad isn't based solely on today. I completely agree some of the new guys have had their moments, that's the reason I'm cutting them some slack. I want them all to succeed, but I've still to be convinced. The others have shown they can do it frank
Jota and Abada took pelters today but they’ve looked great. McCarthy playing game 1 in a team that never performed looked like a player that needed a wee bit of confidence and a hand from his fellow teammates.
the ideal behind ange ball is fast football and movement and when anybody looked up today they only had ajeti ahead. He’s not renowned for his movement.
Not an excuse for today but there are reasons it was as bad as it was
Ive had a bit of a re think on my expectations of the team this season ...was always a big ask expecting a new manager to come in with a squad of mostly new players and win the title .Im hoping by January we ve hit top form and are in touching distance of the zombies ..bring in a few new recruits in January and we might have a chance.Done it, counted to ten that is. Thing is, I don't really feel too much different than I did at the full time whistle. I still can't say it was a complete shock.

That's more or less my own take on things Tony. Think I stated at the beginning my expectation levels remained at best doubtful.Ive had a bit of a re think on my expectations of the team this season ...was always a big ask expecting a new manager to come in with a squad of mostly new players and win the title .Im hoping by January we ve hit top form and are in touching distance of the zombies ..bring in a few new recruits in January and we might have a chance.
Not getting this Tony regarding getting even more players bought in?Ive had a bit of a re think on my expectations of the team this season ...was always a big ask expecting a new manager to come in with a squad of mostly new players and win the title .Im hoping by January we ve hit top form and are in touching distance of the zombies ..bring in a few new recruits in January and we might have a chance.
I think it's fair and completely natural to ask questions John, the points you raise above have also crossed my mind. It is of course, still early days, but in terms of defence we go into games knowing we'll present the opposition with chances. Chances they don't have to work for or play well for. No improvement whatsoever in that department.Certainly came as a shock to me Frank, and still am.
Must admit its the first time questions have arose surrounding Ange.
It's what 14 games into a season now and yet to see any changes in style or formation in play when things aren't going well.
Some strange decisions in player personal today, more so in the subs made.
Still no nearer to getting a settled back 4 yet.
Still remain a big fan of Ange, yet when our main priority should be winning the league, and to start with 3 consecutive defeats is starting to become a matter of concern.
Improvements badly needed with playing away as were starting to come far to predictable with our play imo, and yet the complete oppersitie on our home showing, strange one?

Depends on our current players form or there could be guys out injured by January.A couple of quality signings in January could be the difference in winning you the league i think. Im still not convinced by a couple of the new guys or Ajeti if im honest. That the day showed me how much we miss Broony.A bad day at the office but we cant afford many more. Not getting this Tony regarding getting even more players bought in?
Already have a huge squad of players if everyone's available.
Still seem to be getting an awful lot of injuries in training by the looks of things, so very intense in training and can be powderpuff during a match?
More the lack of ideas and intent, urgency, desire, creativity all missing from the front 5 today that I never expected Frank.I think it's fair and completely natural to ask questions John, the points you raise above have also crossed my mind. Can do nothing other than agree with you Smg. As I said, I don't want to slaughter any of our players, but I do have an early opinion forming in my head about one or two which for the moment will stay there. I want give them a decent run before making comment. Good or bad.Absolutely
I took a bit of grief on deadline day for suggesting that we should have went further than we did as far as investing in squad.
I think and thought at time that people were getting carried away with a couple of decent performances by some and what we were reading about potential recruits.
Best transfer window in a long time etc.
Doesn’t look that way just now.
It’s a long hard slog in Scotland and you need depth of quality despite what people say about our league.
But we need to keep the faith
We’ve no choice to be honest
