Peter "back of the bus" Lawwell - Merged

The board need to rethink this. Some households have three or four ST's, to say to each of the multi purchasing families you can watch the games at home for the snip of £1,000 plus is a fucking scandal. Even to say the price is the same when games are only available on telly is taking the piss. Where is billionaire Desmond? Is Lawell plundering the tin again for a grotesquely inflated bonus? Can the top paid players not get by with £18k a week rather than £25k?

Seems no. Let the support pay a fortune to watch the games on telly.

Open the coverage to allow all fans to watch the games, raising money, then deducted each of these games from the price ST holders pay. As they buy a ST they get the coverage for free. Each game would have hundreds of thousands of us paying for the closed door games.

Dissapointed that the "Family", is making some pay too much when some get paid too much and don't seem to be doing fuck all apart from trousering cash.

Firstly I am not defending the Board here, they should be chipping into the " cause" however like most of us on here CFC are a big part of our lives. When Seville came around I would have given my eye teeth to get a ticket. As it was paid and through the nose come to mind.
In other words there are days you just have to be there. We lift the 10 and I want to be part of it. I was there when we stopped the 10. As part of the cannon fodder I just have to do what needs to be done to be again.
Season ticket renewal is arguably the cheapest option, so it will be done.
I feel for those that can't because of this virus and the Board should come to the party in their support.
I don't set the renewal rules and given the unlikely change to them I will renew very late in the day and Mr Lawwell can suffer the worry till then.

If you are lucky enough to live near Celtic Park you can buy a season ticket and watch every home game. Attendance at the stadium is however not currently permitted due to the plague so how does a club maintain income and yet still honour a season ticket holder. I honestly cannot see the huge difference between three family members being at the ground in a designated seat and the same three watching the home games on their laptop apart from not being surrounded by fans. Can someone explain what exactly is the big problem? The family members avoid the travel costs and can have a refreshment at any time. That is what the non UK fans have experienced for years. Some of us at very ungodly times of the wee small hours. Nothing changes for me, I really do not understand what other option is available. Is this a sense of entitlement because it's not 'usual" ? No one chose to be in this position. Not the Board, not Celtic FC and not the players and staff. I pay 189 pounds for Premium HD live video of every SPFL game home and away involving Celtic and delayed coverage which is a godsend for games that kickoff at 2am. I get a Celtic minded commentary by Paul Cuddihy and with the mangled pronunciation of Tom Boyd that sometimes does my head in. I put on a Hoops top and crack open a few thirst quenchers. I usually get to my bed, which wakens the wife who always asks what was the score. Usually I reply with a smile and sleep contentedly apart from Dec 29th 2019. Take a wider view than usual. It's just a temporary problem- you will still be closer to the Decima than me. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. Hail Hail.

I concede that I do think like a businessman with a business to run and with revenue to generate as well as being a fanatical fan. I miss the sense of being in a crowd and sometimes even hugging a total stranger as if it was my brother when we score. I watch the game alone on my laptop. A season ticket costs over 500 pounds instead of the 189 that I and the other expats pay. That's the big difference. A ST also gives you preferential access to LC, SC and home Euro games. No one wants to stop fans attending. this seems like just a quibble about the appropriate cost for these unusual (imperfectly registered?) ST. Normal rules do not apply. Remember of course that this is the most important season in our lifetimes. What price is 10IAR worth to us? It's a free choice. There is an argument for a reduced price for an inferior product of course but what quantum should be set and what would be unintended possible consequences of this action. It's easy to complain but I've yet to see another option that does not put 10IAR at risk. I suspect the Board have made an unpopular but fiscally correct policy for this unusual season. That's just my opinion from 12,000 miles away. It does not make my love for Celtic any the less.

I don't think its having to pay the money for a Season ticket that's annoying people. It's the fact that if u have a family of 2 or 3 people with ST in the same household watching on one tv/ laptop, they need to pay 1000 or 1500 to watch the same as someone that's paying for just 1 ST. Surely there should be discount etc for houses that have more than one ST holder.

I'll play the devil.
Agree with everything above.

So the devil kicks in.
Wee clubs with refunds. It's about precedent. It seems clubs have different approaches.
The propper tiddlers might need it.
They might not survive without it.
I don't see refunds hitting des out of orbit. (As the sun of Scottish football's universe (lurkers smash your phone)

Can't imagine what ground zero is for most of the wee clubs.
Most of these pros only sign 1 year rolling deals.
Fans walk a different path
The %outlay to buy that ST book v earnings now is massive.

I've not seen one club where a top brass has nominated a figure of compensation as a complete package.

What i mean by that is a structured agreement

It's a lot of money to take in good faith without rewarding the folk that have ploughed it in

E-mail from Celtic, regarding virtual season tickets

Here is the full email sent to Celtic supporters on Tuesday evening:

Thank you for standing with us and renewing your 2020/21 Season Ticket.

We are about to embark on one of the most exciting seasons in our history, with the Scottish Premiership likely to return to action on Saturday, August 1, with the initial league games kicking off behind closed doors.

We are doing all we can to achieve 10 in a row and more – it means everything, but your support is crucial in making this a reality and that starts right now. We are asking you to stay with us every step of the way.

These are uncertain times for everyone and Celtic is in no way immune to these serious difficulties. We face huge challenges and we thank you for supporting us during this unprecedented period.

We all want to be back together at Celtic Park. We are working in circumstances completely outwith our control but are liaising closely with the Government and the SPFL to bring you back to Celtic Park sooner rather than later. We are making progress on this and it is our top priority.

Until then, we have secured specific broadcast rights from the SPFL and SKY in order to provide all 2020/21 Season Ticket holders with an exclusive Online Pass to Paradise through the addition of a Virtual Services element to your Season Ticket.

This will be an online platform built for our Season Ticket holders, to ensure you don’t miss a minute of the action from Celtic Park as you watch the champions safely from home whilst you cannot attend the match in person due to closed door or reduced capacity restrictions.

As announced, we have invested in a new service, engaging with highly-rated production company Sunset+Vine as we look ahead to bring you high quality, first-class sports coverage.

To be clear, any matches for which your Season Ticket is not valid for entry to Celtic Park because of closed door or reduced spectator capacity restrictions as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic will be included in the Virtual Services element of your Season Ticket.

Each Season Ticket holder will access this platform through a unique login that will be provided before the season begins.

As you are aware you have already renewed for the season ahead. Your investment in the club will not be taken for granted, and we thank you for your support.

our updated terms and conditions have all the information on what your Season Ticket will cover.

It should also be mentioned that no mass email was sent out when the club set up the convoluted refund process for last seasons missed games.
Condescending shite!

is this man doing enough to protect our club or should he be shown the door.
my own thoughts are he should be shoved under our team bus unless he grows a pair of balls big enough to call out the cheats at the SFA , Sevco and Scottish referee association
NFL has become a shadow of himself, but Pistol oversaw & general managed it all.

Bump to highlight Pistol Pete, the real problem at our club.
Pistol petes penny pinchin & dealz r responsible for allowing a broke zombie club to lead Celtic.

Who's idea was Barkas?

We know that it was Pistol that would not spend on Toney! but instead chose to do one of his bargain dealz for Ajeti.

Peterborough chairman Barry Fry insists Ivan Toney would have WALKED to Celtic - but deemed the Parkhead club's offer "insulting".

The Premiership champions were keen to land the striker in the summer but saw a £5million bid turned down.
Eventually West Ham's Albian Ajeti arrived to bolster the attack, while Toney moved to English Championship side Brentford.

He's since hit 14 goals in 16 league games, but Fry insists he could easily have been banging them in for Neil Lennon.
"Ivan wanted to go to Celtic. They should have pulled their finger out but they f***** about.

Good job I never waited for them to sell (Odsonne) Edouard because they didn’t anyway.

Does that last part suggest Pete told them to hold while he tried to sell Eddie?

If so! turns out not such a bad plan as seems Eddie wants away sooner than later, but! if Pistol was a genuine whizz money man! he should have known that Toney like McGinn was nowhere near as big a risk to f***** about with, compared to one of his many flops dealz.

Instead we get Barkas & Ajeti added to our squad of growing types (Jullien & Ajer) who like to throw their 'hands in the air pointin at some invisible cause in the sky ' as they reason they just fuckd up.

besides your analysis is worse than Lenny

and thats quite hard to believe is possible

but you pull it off ya mad sevco man

This crisis is hopefully a once in a lifetime situation. The Celtic support don’t want it to stop Ten-in-a-Row but today we’re asking the Celtic Board to meet the support somewhere in the middle on this one and do what os right for Celtic families who risk losing their seats in Paradise simply because their family members have attended Celtic Park over the previous seasons.

Plenty will now be lookin for at least a partial refund, ideally funded from millions pistol has taken from Celtic.

But according to some on here! (1+1=2, 2+2=4, 3+TET=97.34679 recurring)

No! we should be grateful to Pistol as he according to them is a God like special one CEO, who even turned down bigger bucks to stay with us!

Pistol probably got that more money line direct from another fraudster of the fans.

John Delaney claimed (just like Pistol's without any credible source to reference) that he was offered more money, but he chose to stay as he loves us so.

John Delaney just like Pistol was held above the heads of some (the more gullable) fans who wanted to believe these money men were just like them - cared about them, real fans in it mainly for the love!

So unfortunately it took a number of years before the kunt Delaney was exposed as on the take.

Plenty could see through the crook all along, but like all so called 'special ones' he purposely gathered around him hangers-on who directly benefited, and like Trump said enough simp stuff for simps to swallow without question - the types who who would sooner call a paying Celtic fan a hun than have a question asked of their idol.

Take a look at the nerve JD was coming out with a few years before being exposed as a casino player taking fans money.

Swap for Pistols capping Celtic players (but never his own) wages!

Swap for Pistols 'claim' (via WGS) he was offered more money!

Only difference between these pair of takers is - Pistol was for many a year takin & rakin it in & being heralded as a special one in what was effectively a 1 horse race and Pistol has always been a lot more subtle at the takin.
