We went for a walk 'doon the splash' yesterday, wee seaside town called White Rock
Georgia loved the brisk wind through her fur and the fresh air did us both good
She almost pulled me off my feet going down the stairs, there's a lot of them at every street, all the way down to the sea front
We start to descend the stairs, I'm hingin' oan fer dear life to the handrail
A wee bit steep
The fifty foot drop down onto the railroad tracks didn't deter our intrepid husky from trying...
The pier in the background was destroyed a few years ago by a Winter stork, there's a few you tube videos on it, it was incredible
But they raised funds and rebuilt it, it's a big draw for tourists, so they needed it to be rebuilt again
Some of the houses and condos down the front
What a view they have
The seafront looking EAST
This is OXFORD Street, White Rocks answer to the windy windey, street (Lombard Street is it ? in San Francisco)
They close this street in the WInter due to snow and ice, as if someone can't stop coming down the hill, they become airborne and land on the roof of a house or hit the barrier at warp speed, at the bottom
I used to mountain bike down here, and ride my bike about half way up, before gassing out, but that was centuries ago ;-)
Condos, restaurants, shops, but it's a ghost town at the moment, due to Covid, and the fact Summer is over
ESPLANADE looking WEST
GOOD GIRL, Waits to cross
Sunshine on the water
On our way down to meet Mum
That concludes this tour of White Rock
Have a brilliant week Bhoys & Ghirls
