What part of if they say something will be detrimental to the victims getting justice aren’t you getting pal.

Perhaps im not explaining it to well.

There have been cases in which by Celtic remaining dignified they have assisted the authorities get justice for the victims.

People who provide any assistance like celtic did with when they bought from their suppliers (boys club) etc can have a detrimental effect on a jury seeking to pass judgement if theres already been leaks comments in trial by media first.

How does that serve the victims?

Its the old adage, can’t speak about it until every case has been heard to prevent mis-trials etc
Then that's all they should say, then the knobs on the news cannot say Celtic refused to comment

Celtic made an opening statement at the start pal to the effect that whilst the boys club was a seperate entity they would be looking to assist in any investigation bringing justice to the victims. And that as it would be ongoing in court that it would be inappropriate for the clib to comment further as it could be detrimental to justice being served.

Celtic would have the names of personnel operating within the boys clubs due to them acting as a feeder.

Winter i know its aggravating to say the least but we hold firm.

Its best the boys get their justice THEN our club will get theirs.

As a Celtic fan and a mother i share your frustration but we are strong those kids were just kids. They have got to come before our frustration and i believe 100% that Celtic football club are being an example here.

Lets follow their lead. Get these kids, now men justice.

And then we go to war for our club.

Aye i know that 👍🏻but many outside of celtic if they watched that excuse for journalism on the telly dont. It's really a form of libel how can they say Celtic refused to comment when they have, what I meant was Celtic were made to look bad scandalously when all they had to was say we've already given a statement

Pretty sure the club has condemned the abuse that went on, on more than one occasion, what we have though is people/ lawyers / media, linking it to Celtic Football Club and now trying to force compensation from Celtic, if the courts decide that that should be the course of action I'm sure Celtic will oblige, however they wont comment whilst this action is ongoing.

Still rather it was kept off the blog until the courts are finished with it.
The club will NEVER pay compensation to anyone who suffered abuse at the hands of those scum. They were not part of the club. And if it was found out in a court of law that the club was hiding these bastards, then shut the club down. I wouldn't go and support a football club tha
Surely the horrible ugly people operating the sevco sites such as follow follow and Liebrox noise are actionable when they publicly disparage Celtic Plc.

While there is no present evidence of a connection between these entities regarding Celtic Boys Clubs and Celtic FC, the mankkky filth should be served notice from Celtic's counsel for libelous behaviour.........Cliff Richard and the BBC are recent cases in mind......
I agree 100% with this statement.
Many moons ago my dad and his brothers were talking about Celtic boys club and they all agreed that celtic should do something about the rumours going around or it will come back and bite there arses. Which it's now trying to do

Listen Winter, many a post i have read of yours and your a decent fella without doubt.

I know where your coming from trust me.

Celtic are caught between a rock and a hard place here.

Their doing the right, morally right, thing here as is our clubs ethos as it is ours irrespective of our frustration.

Once everything has been heard and complete and our club has done everything to assist those children that still cannot move on being men until their voice is heard and justified, then i fully expect our club to come and take action against every blogger, newspaper or other scandalous slanderous media outlet going.

We will do the right thing then we take scalps from the unjust.

Celtic must , they simply must say something. It's too important not to. It's not only Celtic fc that's been dragged into it by these reprobates many clubs have. Even if to say the club is working with a police investigation they must say something.
How can they say anything? It's nothing to do with the football club. Celtic boys club has not been any part of the club. They have already said that they would help the police anyway they can, what more can they do. Many years ago the procurator fiscall could have said this has nothing to do with Celtic Football Club, but decided not to Why??? That's the question that should be asked now. Why?? Why?? Did they NOT free Celtic of all blame 50 years ago. I believe it suited there agenda then as it does now. HH

This is the classic loaded question : When did you stop beating your wife ?
There is no answer which will not sound like you are guilty in the eyes of those asking the question .

Celtic have made their position clear re. the Boys Club and have also utterly condemned the abuse and the abusers .
There is nothing to be gained by further statements denying etc... this only encourages those vile people that want to use these awful events to denigrate the Celtic name .
Once you start a debate with these morons , you will not win . ''They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ''.
Unless you say you can’t stop something that never started.

It's never been about Celtic fc. End off
Think you're missing the point we are talking about the club being slandered in the media for which they should make a stance. Everyone knows that the club have issued a statement a while ago that's old news but that was before the media and poxy twatters and bloggers decided to weigh in the point at hand here mt is should Celtic respond to the slander

Dont think I'm missing the point, I think we're just looking at it in a different way. This has been going on for 50 years and the club has said nothing, so why start now??

The no win no fee lawyer has had many months to issue court papers against Celtic and then take his case to court to be heard. If he believed he had a strong case then he would have done that already. Perhaps he feels he would be unsuccessful in court so is trying to embarrass Celtic through the media into settling. He then gets his % commission. He knows that there is substantial 'public interest' in this case fuelled by the Ibrox bigots - yesterday Graham Spiers tweeted this "Many Rangers fans exercised and excited on here re this Celtic Boys Club tragedy. What a spectacle it is: the worst expression of transparent glee and oneupmanship I think I’ll ever see in football. Over child sex abuse."

Recently there was a victim of child abuse at Rangers who contacted the Ibrox club and was told that it was nothing to do with them and that he should direct his concern to the liquidators. Conveniently blanked by this horrible lot at Ibrox.

The fact is that the response from Rangers (founded in 2012 by Charles Green) is correct. Any claim died with the old club.

And the other fact is that Celtic never 'owned or operated' that Boys club. Today Celtic have many hundreds of non football playing employees - back then there were only a handful of staff working at Celtic Park. The lessons have been learned and Celtic now operate the youth system to the highest standards.

Celtic can and will do or say nothing so long as this No Win No Fee lawyers hammers his drum and makes his increasingly hollow threats. Celtic are a PLC, the board's duty is to the shareholders and as a PLC they quite reasonably do not expect to be liable for the actions of entirely separate organisations.

If this goes to court - and you can never totally be sure what will happen in any case - Celtic's lawyers will be confident that they would win. It would be expensive for the % cut lawyer as he'd have his own costs, the court costs and the substantial Celtic legal bill to pay - so you can see why he's reluctant.

At that stage Celtic could look if they were minded, to offering some support to the victims but at the moment they are unable to do anything other than the statement that was previously released.

In many ways it would be good if this did go to court so everyone could get closure.
One of the statements made in a local rag was Celtic should do the honourable thing and set up a compensation scheme, to me that is a plea, more than any litigation that could be brought against a company having any liability. People might say that Celtic enjoyed benefits from people been associated to clubs and if showing potentail Celtic would snap them up, for this reason maybe it would be a gesture of goodwill that what happened is a regret associated with a great tradition and historic icon and an incident that must be more than anything horrific for the victims, but, the media will detract from the facts and the victims, therefore if Celtic is not the employer and with no responsibility to the perputrators, then the matters ends. Celtic i believe will make, off the record, a goodwill gesture even though they are not bound to do so, that is my belief.

That quote (statement) was actually from one of the lawyers who's client was horrifically abused by someone at the Celtic boys club. Celtic will not and should not offer any "goodwill gesture" because they are not responsible for any abuse.

Why do you think they slander Jock Stein?? They have the scarfs that they like to use against him. How far back have they been slandering our club?? Big jock left us in 1977/78 season (I think) that was 41 years ago this month (taking that the seasons always ended in May) so maybe not Quite 50 years. but close to it when you take there filthy flags and scarfs into account.
