The Noise and it's members...

Great message Winter, a male oriented football (not to forget our Shammy/Rose) site has all the bravado and bluster thats expected, so it's always great to hear people open up slightly and speak from the heart. And positively too.
In amongst the negativity of life as a celtic supporter on here, this gave me a wee lift to read, a kindred spirit you are, a summer day in winter. You've reminded me of why i keep coming back for more (outside of Hoppys patter).
This site has become my go to not just for the fitba, but in these times when i'm bored, frustrated, lonely, sad, overcome, happy, emotional etc. Like the Greenock weather, i can experience them all in a day.
I often let my alter ego mr jack d from good ole tennessee get the better of me and blow out a load of shite, the stuff we daren't share and next day the fear of the keyboard warrior of the night before hits before the hangover.
But then i read the nice folk and messages in reply. People react, dont judge, understand, some feel you and empathise with the pie you've made of yourself. That fear subsides although the grammar can leave a lot...
It's that kinda place, it's different things for different people, it's what we all need it to be, some just do the fitba, some socialise and some just need an outlet, but wherever you fall, theres a kindred spirit in here somewhere.
Its Hoopy not Hoppy ffs! 🙄

Must think I'm a fuckin 🦘

i wasn't talking about you :ROFLMAO:, you never seen hoppys posts
ahhh, story time
So Hoppy down our way is Davie Hopkin, ex chelsea, Craig Burley with ginger hair, yes that guy
My good friend coached with him at Morton when he was there first time round, 10 years ago. Think Kenny Sheils got the punt and Hoppy took over as caretaker for a month or two in January.
Myself and a couple of mates happen to own a hotel in Greenock, so my pal calls asking for mates rates for a few trialists to stay, so i said look it's winter, empty rooms they can have them gratis, helping my local team. fine and dandy. next thing he's at Livvi.
When he gets the job last year, my mate does the same, no we'll pay etc, i'm look its for the local team, some rooms are empty, no loss, no probs
An hour later phone goes, 'Hello is that Stephen, i'm like yes it is, 'Its David Hopkin here from Morton Football Club', i says 'Davie i was half expecting your call, i'm sorry mate',
he says what for, 'we'll im 42 now and although i've still got the best left foot in the toon, im afraid i'm going to have to knock back your offer although its a proud moment'
He was very genuine and offered me hospitality to any game that season, i asked for dinner with him, Andy Ritchie and Arthur Montford :)

Youve got one now! Bet Shammy knows what you had for dinner! 😹
Slow cooker Irish Stew with crusty bread
I grew up with a maw n paw that had 7 brothers/sisters each
My old bhoy always says every day was a 1 pot day,
If your granny made a pot of stovies the night before
the next day you had it cold for breakfast,
your lunch pieces were stovies n butter,
hot stovies was for dinner if you'd the power and
for supper a bit of bread wiped/cleaned the leftover gravy from the pot

I grew up on that type of food, my maw always said the food of the working man gave you everything you needed
in them days spag bol was considered exotic :)

same as you,Smelly, I love a king rib supper but they seem to have got smaller than they used to be .
Everything shrinks the older we get Shammy... oh wait
Mars bars etc, jeez bought a multi packet of crisps other day, it was like a quarter of each bag with crisps. My old packet o crisps meant opening 3 of the new sizes. It's a joke nowadays, lets no put price up, we'll just give em less...
Still everything getting smaller suits Hoopy.....
