The photograph thread

That applies as much to genuine wildlife guys as much as, say, landscape shots.

Yep, true Frank. What makes bird photography difficult is unlike other photography, the bird chooses the perch, pose and background. And, if it's not a good pose with the correct head angle, perch, eye contact and background, personally I would bin it. With my camera taking 40 frames per second, I take a lot of photographs of the bird, and even at that speed every frame is slightly different, as birds are always moving. I only keep images that come up to my standard. So, out of say 2000 images, I will keep only the best ones, which could lead to just keeping say 20 out of the 2000. That's why I like doing it. It is so much of a challenge.
 
'Greenfinch'. Another great day up North yesterday. The morning sun showed some great colours on the birds and the backgrounds. And to top it all off, this Greenfinch flew by me real close, which I managed to lock focus on at 400mm. This is almost full frame. Lots of keepers.
