transfer window

Personally I would knock back any player suggested by Baby Lawwell.
We are definitely missing Starfelt in defence.
If Brenda keeps on telling his players to put crosses into the box, we need a big powerful strike, not some 20 year old project player built like the side of a fiver.
If this January window is anything like the summer then we can kiss the league goodbye
Starfelt would not have made difference under rodgers style imo.

We dont cross high into box. Not sure what games youve been watching if you see crosses too high for our strikers?

Rodgers doesnt cross high very often.

Big striker would not help in rodgers style thus far. unless he planning to change his style?

Even if we sign 50 million worth of talent, if they cannot play rodgers system better than our very good current players then we will struggle to win league unless our players play his system better.

Scales is better than starfelt imo.

So i dont think we miss Starfelt at all.
injuries to abada and maeda have resulted in drop in goals from their area of pitch.

Palma doesnt play well in cold wet weather. thats an issue imo.he isprobably our best pass to feet player but he lacks pace and plays badly in cold rain.

Inter Milan are considering a January move for Celtic midfielder Matt O'Riley.
The Serie A club are prepared to offer an initial loan until the end of the season with an obligation to buy him in the summer.
Inter are among an increasing number of top clubs sending scouts to watch O'Riley, amid an increase in his performance level again this season.
Aston Villa and West Ham have been watching him recently, as well as PSV Eindhoven and Atletico Madrid, and all of these clubs have been present for his Champions League appearances, in which he made three assists.
Inter are discussing whether to steal a march on potential rivals by making a move when the January transfer window begins, but it would take a record fee for Celtic to agree to any deal
Their current record sale is around £25m for Jota from Saudi Arabian side Al Ittihad last summer, which trumped the £23m they earned from Arsenal for Kieran Tierney in 2019.

Why the hell would we give any club a loan to buy deal? If they want him then pay the going amount for an excellent player, with a fantastic future in the game, who is under a lengthy contract and is the regular starter?

And then reinvest the money properly this time on a couple of high quality starters In positions we need upgrades in.

The only way that any money is gonna be spent in January is based on MOR being sold in the summer in any case.
Board will make it look as though they are backing BR in this window but they will already be counting the dosh from his sale to make sure the 70mil in the bank is added to and not decreased.

Obligation to buy is a guaranteed fee in the summer. It's a way for teams to delay spend until next financial year and not breach FFP rules. They do that or the Chelsea (Jim McLean) 10 year deals to spread the cost

I know why it is attractive to the buyer to bypass FFP, but not to the seller. It is understandable when you are trying to offload a fringe player on high wages, but surely you'd want as much payment upfront to be able to replace your best player this season?

We'll probably offload MOR for an undervalued pay later deal, give Turnbull an enhanced 4 year contract, tell the fans what a fantastic outcome and then give the CEO, Chairman & Head of Recruitment large bonuses for being so damn good.

A board with any ambitions would not even be thinking about selling Matt O’Riley mid season and definitely not on a loan. He’s one of our most important players.😡
So bye bye Matt then 😔😱.

This season has the potential to allow our leagues winners to make more money in next seasons CL than any Scottish team ever has... If we sell Matt and then further implode in the league, it will take us a few seasons to recover, if he goes in January he must be replaced by a like for like mid in the mould of McTominay or McGinn neither of which I can see happening as we wont part with the dosh needed...

On their heads be it... We should be looking to build a team around players like Matt not selling them to the first bidder with 30 pieces of silver...

Don't write the medias stories for them, it is getting close to Derby day and the bed shiters and bottle crashers are hoping the media will put out wee pieces of shite and hope it gets amplified. Whats the betting the topics on clyde supersnooze will be
Rodgers Bad
Clementine good
OReilly off
Huns sign top super stars
Dalziels nose
Marc Wilson getting pished ripped out him
Keevings praising up his family and talking down to the people who pay him ie fans
Host rabbiting on about to may signed balls by no marks been won
Hanna doing his part for the Sun media and roasting punters on beat the pundit by answering all his own tabloid stories
200 million adverts
help needy at xmas ie Ibrox FC

Now now, 50! It is just gossip at the moment and is not a done deal yet. Our board would have to be very stupid and very greedy to sell this season's best player during this window when there is so much at stake. Oh...

Fran Alonso has left SWPL title chasers Celtic to become head coach of Houston Dash in the United States top flight.

Celtic have won the Scottish Cup twice, the League Cup once and been SWPL runners-up twice since the 47-year-old took charge in January 2020 as the club turned professional.
Alonso was "very sad" to go and said his exit was "a really hard decision".

The Spaniard leaves with Celtic three points behind Rangers at the halfway point of the current SWPL season.

This is the problem we have ....our business should have been done properly in the summer.
We can't be selling one of our top players mid season and for that same reason we can't expect to get the quality we require in the same window.
The middle ground for me is to keep Matt and get the team back to full strength with with a couple of experienced first team ready additions maybe loans to help us in the key areas that we are struggling.
Worst thing we can do is dive in and get it wrong again as the squad is already too big.

A board that allowed Peter Lawell get away with his scandalous handling of the John Mc Ginn debacle, is more than capable of selling or even loaning Matt O'Reilly, in the January window, if they feel there is enough money in the deal. Football is secondary to them.

Vaclav Hladky's agent has opened up on a potential move to Celtic as the Ipswich Town number one nears the end of his contract.

Brendan Rodgers' side have been on the look-out for a goalkeeper to add competition to undisputed number one Joe Hart with the likes of Real Madrid shot-stopper Andriy Lunin emerging as a potential target. The Ukraine goalkeeper will be able to open pre-contract talks with other clubs from January 1 with the view to joining on bargain a free transfer in the summer - and former St Mirren goalkeeper Hladky is in the same position.

The Czech star left the Buddies in 2020 and after a success season at Salford City before he was snapped up by The Tractor Boys - helping them to earn a spot in the English Championship last term. Boss Kieran McKenna has put Ipswich on course for a second consecutive promotion for the English Premier League - but Hladky's future remains up in the air.

Czech outlet iSport report that the Scottish Premiership leaders have shown an "interest" in the goalkeeper with a view to a pre-contract deal. Asked about interest from Celtic the player's agent Martin Stepanovsky said: "We have some teams registering inquiries, which is understandable given Vaclav's performances, the position of Ipswich and the expiring contract. However, the priority is to agree on an extension and advance to the Premier League."

''History tells us that we will not always qualify for the Champions League and the benefit of holding cash reserves affords us the optionality of managing through seasons where we participate in the Europa League with the ability to retain our squad as opposed to selling key players to bridge the income shortfall between both competitions.''

A direct quote from Peter Lawell ☝️

So with BOTH the Champions League qualification money banked and the £70m in cash reserves resting in the account gathering a tidy interest then according to Peter the Great's hallowed business strategy there is absolutely no need to sell O'Riley or ANY of our key players for that matter!

Brilliant!!! So ALL of our best players will be staying put then! After all that's how their whole business model works...right?

History tells us that we will not always qualify for the Champions League, because Lawwell wouldn't speculate to accumulate.

There were several seasons where we could have qualified but failed to do so because Lawwel wasn't prepared to take a risk and spent some of the CL money before it was earned in order that we could earn it.

It's somewhat ironic that Lawwell mourned the death of the huns, but their death give him the perfect "bogey man" as a warning against overspending.

But Oldco didn't die because of one carefuly calculated gamble. They died because of years of living beyond their means.

If we'd have taken a small risk in order to qualify for the CL the worst that would have happened , is we'd have spunked all of our tranfer budget for that window in one gamble. WE WOULDN'T HAVE DIED.
