TUNES!!!

One of the greatest singers and song writer in the last 50 years has got to be Randy Newman
,songs include parodies Short People,Rednecks, (classic) Birmingham and of course Toystory the movie (you got a friend ), (I love L.A)
and the classic( I think it’s gonna rain today) absolutely brilliant have a listen seen him in Glasgow 6 years ago
....great times Chub....takes me back to the Ambassador in Dundee in 1978......20 pence a pint Thursday night...... Randy Newman with 'Jolly Coppers On Parade' or 'Short People'... along with The Emotions.....'The Best Of My Love' & 'Native New Yorker'........great days ....oh to be 18 again!!!

was experimenting with Floyd tune gig in sky

And decided to tell computer to put all notes into G minor key

no idea what key it should be in but the result was a bit weird\

Sounds same but different

well I used metal guitars rather than standard electric guitars
And added bit of make choir :p

Anyway quite interesting result

I had a flashback about this, was pretty far gone at the time, so just listened, thats a great sound you get there. its the same song but it's not if that makes sense

if you pick a tune I can try make a version

well see what pops out

pick a letter from a to g

ill transpose the notes

and you pick what instruments you want playing

see if a lucky version flips out the other side :p

i'll make sure its not seasick steve :) ,
your too kind,
i'll put some thought to that !

give me a few days, i'm fortunate enough to work from home and always got tunes on
something will drop in sometime soon
is it more guitar based that works best ?
anything its just an experiment

You pick tune

ill see if I can find it on net in midi format

I have most instruments in virtual format

so I can play tune the way its meant to be with correct instruments

or I can change the key to make it sound bit different

or I can play it with totally different instruments

sometimes nice versions pop out by changing key and rearranging notes to fit new key

and sometimes you might wish the guitar tune was actually played with synthesiser of violin or whatever?

ill give you example

I will try making wish you were here Floyd but ill play it in e minor with different instruments from usual

see what pops out it might be woeful but it might be lucky one :p:p:p:p

mine too

but I seem to be immune to being a giant ass

:p

here is the result of wish you were here changed to c major

I was intending to make it e minor but hey I made arse of it with first 4 instruments and just continued with c major

the clarinet on melody seemed to clash on bounce down with the eclipse rhythm guitar

and well I couldn't be arsed going back and un muddying the water for an experiment :p:p:p

see made an arse of it several times during production

but when its just for fun then who cares :p:p:p:p:p

results were odd but I quite liked sections of it

used cello piano eclipse guitar viola drums double bass and xylophone :p:p:p:p:p

xylophone bit I liked best

but the viola clarinet eclipse clashed badly with their reverb setting on mastering it

sounded ok individually but I only noticed when I was ready to upload and found the clashing noise interference

oh well

like a chef better to taste before you serve :p:p:p:p
