Summer Transfer Window Thread Now Open...

Bayo is not the man, has done nothing to convince me he's good enough, not sure if Klimala will become the guy, he's being touted as
Griff, if he gets his arse in gear and Eddie, are our two best, proven strikers
The young team might need another season before gaining the first team
Fletcher, for me, would be a good one
But that's ust me

Lenny's words today re- Griff were very encouraging. We should hopefully see him v Hibs tomorrow. Griff didn't fulfil the expected fitness regime allocated to all through lockdown, however it appears he knuckled down, did the work and will be alongside Eddy soon. Bayo is an odd one though, i do think there's a player there but not sure if he fits the style we play.

Agree Nick, be good to have Griff back and banging in the goals alongside Eddie
Haven't seen much of Bayo, but he hasn't done anything that makes me think he's going to fit in with our style of play
Might just need a run of games but always going to be 4th choice for Neil lennon, imho

I’d take fletcher, he could do a good job up here, and by all reports wouldn’t be hard to deal with, hickey is a good shout too, although his position isn’t top priority, goalkeeper and central defender is....
No for me by his sell buy date guy had his chance never took it so
That’s it cannot get two bites of the cherry me thinks

Said it couple of weeks back selling Eddy in the season we're going for the 10 would be an unforgivable act from Lawell & the Board as far as I'm concerned.

Eddy's under contract and we're not in dire straits financially so given what this season means and how vital he will be to our success there would be no justifying this. Honestly and I don't say it lightly but if Lawell actually went ahead with this then I'm done putting any more money into Celtic until Lawell is gone.

Already fed up seeing Lawell and this board selling off our best talent every time we look like we could build something special, to do it in the season where we could be on the cusp of doing something truly historic would be the final straw for me where this board is concerned!
Shadow2 I agree with completely. This board is a joke and the fans are being taken as mugs. I’m embarrassed. How long does it take to buy 1 player🤬

I'm not a great fan of Lawell/the board personally mate. I find myself drifting from grudging tolerance of them to outright hostility towards them at times.

I do recognise that commercially they are good for the business, they have negotiated some top deals like the Adidas deal for instance but when it comes to matters on the pitch (and certain other things) I just feel let down by them more often than not.

I know some good people on here are of the view that they do their best on the footballing side but I just don't share that view. I find them far too eager to sell off our top talent regardless of how it impacts the team, too slow to address the needs of the team and unwilling to invest sufficiently to address those needs when it's necessary.

If they flog a top talent and an integral player like Eddy when we're going for a historic 10 league titles in a row then that to me paints a picture of a board who value cold hard cash above what this club is supposed to be about.....achievement on the pitch.

Aye we need to be financially sound I have no arguments with that at all but if we're building hotels and museums at the expense of the team on the pitch then what are we.....a football club with a business or a business with a football club?

All I'm saying is I don't invest my money in the club through season tickets and merchandise to cheer on hotels and museums, I invest it to hopefully see my team being the best it can be on the pitch. For me I think the board views what goes on on the pitch as secondary which baffles me as surely it's the team on the pitch that's at the centre of it all and it's the success of that team that makes all the rest possible.

That’s exactly what I think. 👍

I agree that it is about achievement on the pitch, and sometimes the timing of departures is not good, but areas like museums and hotels are really important.

We can generate revenue 24/7, 365 days a year from a museum and a hotel. Many people who are not local will use both on the same visit. This will prove to be a substantial earner and should not be played down.
