Summer Transfer Window Thread Now Open...

Boli has been shipped out. Hayes is gone. A loan to patch things up isnt good enough.
We need a first team starter.

Taylor has been driving me nuts.
At lb or lwb he should be providing us with width. He isnt doing that because he puts zero pressure on his opposite number.
Its pointless playing him unless he is tasked with taking a player out the game.

The run up the touchline turn round and pass back routine is killing me.
If anyone thinks im being harsh speak up as i dont know if im just fixated on it and driving myself mental.
The way im seeing it is we had two attacking left players in Ely and Eddie. There was zero spark on the left, no risks taken , no imagination.
Talyor would pass into the middle into a crowded mf which was being pressed by a hard working side.
Meant our CBs were having to have too much of the ball and it slowed us to a standstill.

Its no coincidence we have looked more dangerous when frimpong has been gunning down the right.
In these last few games of packed mf we need that to stretch.
Talyor just isnt up to it. Its his job to drag 2 players to the corner flag. A third to cover the runner inside.
Instead all teams have had to do is get a rb to stand infront of him and he passes back.

Not good enough.
His contribution over the last few games has left us completely sterile on the left.

Money needs spent now on a player that can do the job we require.

All an opposition have to do is pack the middle and have a rb stand in position. That leaves us with just the right wing to get at them

taylor had a poor game today. On Thursday i thought he had his best, mind you opinions are like...
I like his effort, I also like the fact he's 22 and seems to find incremental improroveemnts

I like his effort, I also like the fact he's 22 and seems to find incremental improvements. He defended on Thursday against the fastest winger in European football, yet still supplied attacking width. He has limitations, the movement to beat a man is one, his cross ball is fairly effective based on stats but looks frustrating.

Conversely I like Frimpong his movement is superb, he commits men and beats them but does he deliver the final ball any more than Taylor?

Taylor checks inside and so does Frimpong so why does Taylor get a tougher press?

Today both wingbacks were ineffective, Frimpong was doubled and trebled up on Taylor got just as bogged down.

Frimpong is a joy to watch, Taylor isn’t I grant you but when it comes to returns is there much difference in terms of goals and assists? That’s for someone else to check I guess. From a layman’s eye I see a player aesthetically pleasing and a fans favourite and another with a more industrious, even ugly approach but does his job. I might be wrong, maybe the stats will give a different story.

If that's the case bobo then questions need to be asked if we don't get a solution to our problem area as surely a loan signing or another development player is not the solution
We have sent out O'Connor the ex man U lad on loan (looks a player can play lb but is a right footer)
Luca is a left midfielder or deep dm. He doesnt have the pace to be a lwb talented as he is.
Again he isnt deemed to be able to play the position everyone on here is screaming for him to play. Rightly so as he doesn't have those qualities. Could he play left mid or sit higher and cross in. Yeah he could but is square pegs again.
Ive said here multiple times that i watched every hilight he had, every game he played in and he isnt the type of player some think he is. So he definitely isnt the lwb we need.

If we spend on a lwb and give us the attacking ballance again we will see improvements in eddies game and also our cms and ams as they will have space to play

Frimpong causes problems and requires player commitment. That opens space.
Taylor against a defensive side, which are most of the teams we face lets them switch off and focus on flooding the mf.
We are so passive and predictable on the left that it stagnates our attacking threat as a whole

i don't get O'Connor. We have Elhamed and Frimpong both covering the right. O'Connor surely was needed as cover for those two. All for young bhoys heading out on loan but not when we are so short

Agree totally bobo, when you look at needing at least 2 or3 to close the right side down with frimpong that should be allowing more space in the middle and loads on the left and yet it is not working the way it should with the left side not right, hopefully this will get sorted tomorrow.

Might see the best of Taylor in europe then particuarly away from home. Saints closed Frimong down today- not always legally may I add, yet he floated inside rather than commit wide and flooded midfield as much as taylor ever does. I think both players need cover inside them, especially as wing backs covering behind as much as supplying attacking width. I think both are works in progress, it's just one looks more exciting. Both will need help and neither are naturals to their role. Considering how much our 'new' system is reliant on both we'll need cover for them as the season progresses. Neither is any better than the other- though I know which one I'd prefer to pay to watch.

Those who were saying it was on are now retracting and saying we won't pay the loan fee required. Looks like we're after a LB/LWB only. Also rumours that Christie wants out and has spat the dummy when told he's going nowhere (don't believe this given his effort performances recently).
It was in the mainstream media, so it MUST be true
We know they will always come up with stories about dressing room discord, and guff like that, to unsettle the team, always happens when there's a 'big' game against Deidco coming up

El hameds started to play like taylor today aswell , it's not hard to look up and pick a pass but christ we make it look hard

Talyor had better luck in the 4-3-2-1 shape we played. Ely on form did a bit of the wide stuff. He is still a player that likes to drift and you wont see him whipping in cross after cross from the touchline.
With two up top
taylor has to do an attacking role by himself.
I'd like to see two players flooding in to give him simple options.
Every team so far has had the rb stand still then a wall of players shielding a through pass on the inside.
If Rogic can somehow get back in the mix then it will help ...push RC as well.

lennys statement regarding 2 players tomorrow is under the microscope for me. We have had numerous similar statements made in the last while. Hope we get these deals sorted and negotiations are pretty much sewn up.
Its happened a few times these deadlines have came and gone and statements change.
There have been more than a few decent players in the press saying we tabled offers to sign them over the last few years with good bids so we are trying.
Time to get these two deals over the line. Tomorrow

Just get broony on, and play with two strikers, need to pin taviner back in his own half, most of their attacks go though him
Think taylor and frimpong will keep thier places for that reason.
Kent will be looking for fouls so frimpong has to keep switched on and not give him an inch or an excuse.
Taylor to snuff out tavineer and push him to make his defensive howlers he is so prone to.
Yeah but Neil will most likely go with Eddie, as he's done the business n the past against the zombies
For me, on today's showng it would Griff and Klimala but we'll have to wait and see
HH
Kilmala has to be in with a shout. His pace through the middle could be the difference. Griff i wouldnt mind getting mins either.
I dont think eddie is anywhere near fit. His trip with france on the last break set him further back. He will probably feature twice for the U-21s before sevco.
Hope its light duty and it helps him back to sharpness.

when will people realise that being a provosupporter doesn't make you good enough to play for us. McLean is fuck all and if anybody wants him because he shouts up the ra, then we are in big fucking trouble. Lawell would never bring him even if he ws good for all the bollocks that would focus ons, and thank fuck for that. Move on ffs, Mclean isn't coming to us, not now, not ever.
Think you are thinking of another Mclean, we are talking about the guy who helps charity in the spirit of Walfrid, stands up for his parents culture and heritage and does not conform to recognising and worshipping the fallen people who pillaged and plundered his ancestors homes.
Never known this one to speak of the RA or shout about them in fact i have never heard of any real provos who shout up the RA unless they are prevoked into it by ignorant bigots who know nothing and do not think anything of discriminating on the grounds of nothing but the choice a man makes in his religion and the upbringing he was born into. Sometimmes then a wee up the RA explodes the pointy pixie purple head into a meltdown.
