I’m a total agnostic.
I used to have to go to church every sun morning for over 18yrs thru work, I was the only mini bus driver and had to facilitate those who wished to attend and actually have to sit thru the services with them.
I saw and heard nothing in all those years that could possibly have turned me into a believer, in fact it was probably the total opposite in truth and I actually thought it just looked like a cult to me, those that were there were really into it if u know what I mean.
Yer born, ye make the most of it while yer here and then yer deid…that just about covers it for me.

It might be worth reading Elisabeth Kübler-Ross's study on life after death - she is not a religeous writer but a world respected researcher and known for her model on the stages of grief. She studied thousand sof cases and 500? where people had been 'dead' and brought back to life - there was a strange similarity in all their experiences - including blind people who report accurately having seen what had happened in the room around them whilst on their 'death' bed and when they were brought back remained blind. Just a thought there may be more to it than you have suggested.

Unfortunately very true but that is the extreme part of the church in the USA and the lesser reported majority are peole who try to live by faith. The world constantly tries to put down what it fears or doesn't understand- stories of love and charity across the world don't sell!

Religion is neither good or bad it's just a thing, it's people who make it good or bad. Some people do wonderful things guided by their religion, others do terrible things guided by theirs.

And it's the same with every religion, some people do good with it, some people do bad. Not the fault of religion in my opinion, its the fault of people, as usual 🙄
 
:oops: i thank the brutal nuns and the sadistic twat from sligo beating the religion out of me at a young age. their time came to face the music as for a god folk find comfort in believing in one

If thats the case, why would such a thing be unique to humans? Surely if there is an afterlife or similar, all beings would experience such? I totally respect ur belief and opinion but there is nothing that will ever change mine or convert me to any form of religious practice, sad as it is I even e an issue with Christmas because I’m someone who sticks to his principles, its only to conform socially and for my family that I buy into that.

I'm not sure what animals have to do with this conversation and did not try to get you to have any religious belief - all I was saying is that a couple of eminent scientists have studied those who have had near death experiences and that their conclusion is that there is an afterlife. Even Newton's first law of thermodynamics tells us that energy cannot be created or destroyed - the same he said was true of matter.

if you cannot descrobe the colour green adequately to a person born blind and explain the difference between different colours to said blind man then does that mean colour doesnt exist?
