Very sad tonight at the passing of our greatest ever Captain...was behind the goal at Hampden when he rose to bang the ball into the net for the winner...the joy that goal brought,honestly...it was incredible and the kick start the club needed..I still smile when I think of it..the Vodjvodina winner, a mirror image and tremendous joy again. When we really needed a Leader, someone to show us... well Billy was the man. I was right behind the goal when those headers went in
His heading at corners/set pieces, was second to none
He was always open to talking to fans and the world is a sadder place now, without him
RIP Billy

So sad as the rest of you to hear the loss of our Icon, big Billy. My prayers will be for,Billy,Liz and the rest of the family. Got the great man's autograph when I was a teen after watching the Tic play Chelsea in a friendly. Was totally angered when the Board sacked Billy that I gave up going to see the Bhoys. One of the family got in contact with Billy and told him about my reaction to the treatment of my Idol.Billy wrote a letter to me and thanked me for my concern but said Celtic was in his blood and would be in mine and he would like me to return and support the club and the team. That is what made Billy McNeil so special, after losing his position,he made time to send a signed Photo and letter to me. R I P. Billy, your Legend lives on.
