WHO says you may catch coronavirus more than once, warns against idea of ‘immunity passports’
Point is they should never have been in that position in the first place when this hit Europe our airports were still open with no testing mate , we as an island had a 2week jump on it and done Nothing! Thanks Boris!Agreed but its now down to the people to do their bit and from what I can see, a lot are not

...................I cannot understand why people with virus are permitted to fly into the UK. In NZ we have virtually NO arrivals and those that do are taken in a bus to a detention centre for two weeks to be quarantined.
..........................Looks like my idea of creating a WORLD SPORTS HAVEN in NZ is taking shape. Finance Minister is keen and officials are currently working on the logistics. IF and I know its a big IF we can be in two weeks ie May 12th onwards the first developed country to be officially declared COVID free then the opportunities are enormous. It needs careful planning however. Athletes need to be COVID free somehow. We can supply venues, flights, hotels and hospitality and officials. The demand could be huge for live sport and we have a short window to get it up and running.
I'm a medical doctor and I know the difficulties of my idea. BUT I see no insurmountable difficulties if properly managed. We need the logistics worked out now and we need to use the time between now and May12th to be able to provisionally offer our facilities to interested sports codes and countries. The key is offering safety both for athletes and for the New Zealand public. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for a tiny country of just 5,000.000 to be a safe host venue for sport. No other country can possibly host world sport in mid May. By then sport will have been absent for over 6 weeks and sports addicts have been deprived of their drug of choice. It would mean entire sports teams opting to be separated from family for two to three months and minimal support staff. We have sports and training facilities , we have have empty hotel rooms and Air New Zealand is happy to fly teams here and back and across the nation. We are hospitable. Imagine if the 12 teams of the SPFL sent 20 players and staff. (We have plenty of physios and docs and refs ) that would require just 240 seats and could all fit on just one Dreamliner jet. We have 8 of these sitting on the tarmac. It takes just 24 hours to get here. BUT the SPFL could not organise such a plan. Far too radical and out of the box. English cricket is mulling it over (the main problem there is our autumn weather) so will probably choose to play in UAE...........................
I think the WHO may put an obstacle or two in the way of your plan...
WHO warns countries against issuing 'immunity passports'
"Immunity certificates" would clear recovered people to leave home and travel for work.www.nzherald.co.nz

I can but dream. Don't be a naysayer. It's the only way I will ever see Celtic in action in Wellington.
See it as a dumb idea why would countrys infected all over the world fly to middle earth to play a game of football and going by the science some folk may be asymptomatic meaning they may have the virus but don't display the symptomsI'm a medical doctor and I know the difficulties of my idea. I think that having low populated areas has helped in NZ. Ffs, there are more sheep than people living there.See it as a dumb idea why would countrys infected all over the world fly to middle earth to play a game of football and going by the science some folk may be asymptomatic meaning they may have the virus but don't display the symptoms
Although unaffected by the pathogen, carriers can transmit it to others or develop symptoms in later stages of the disease. Asymptomatic carriers play a critical role in the transmission of common infectious diseases
Iceland found during testing that 50% of there population were not displaying symptoms of covid 19 but were Asymtomatic .
So that is why it would be a dumb idea to fly footballers or anyone the other side of the world during apandemic
I'm sure your medical background would have known that
They also don't have as many flights flying in from affected areas unlike us, we just allow folk to fly in no checks nothing just waltz through ,,, no need to check anyone as that would cost money and resources we never haveI think that having low populated areas has helped in NZ. It's all sound bites. Colleagues of mine have symptoms of the virus but they wouldn't test them. I'd love to know who is getting tested if Care of the Elderly workers can't. All talk and no action as per usual and they're getting an easy ride of it from the press. They also don't have as many flights flying in from affected areas unlike us, we just allow folk to fly in no checks nothing just waltz through ,,, no need to check anyone as that would cost money and resources we never have
Where other countrys tracked and traced then isolated UK played out the herd immunity card and still is ,this govt as done fk all it's daily press confrences are as far as it goes lip service in the middle of a pandemic
Wouldn't be surprised if the schools were back after next week and the markets opened up because the economy is more important to them
There journalists are all hand picked to not give them a hard time , your right about soundbites ,,,that's all it is ,,,frontline workers shouldn't need to constantly fight every step of the way for the items to make them safe at their jobIt's all sound bites.
