UTOPIA !!!!!!When Will This Behaviour Stop Being Accepted?
Not until Police Scotland and Scotland's Judiciary rids itself of the anti-Irish racists and anti-Catholic bigots within their own ranks especially those at the top echelons who are well known to frequent the very same lodges, both Orange and Masonic, as those they are failing to police and prosecute!
Not until the Scottish Mainstream Media rids itself of it's own anti-Irish and anti-Catholic hacks who are ever ready to deflect, omit the facts, engage in whataboutery and act as apologists and excuse makers for their fellow Sevco supporting racists and bigots whenever the need arises. You can also add to that their swivel-eyed uber-Unionist mates who may not be hun racists or bigots but who are only too happy to lend a hand to stir the pot and whip up tensions and play to this base for political gain!
Not until the politicians rid their parties of the anti-Irish racists, anti-Catholic bigots and far right fascists who like their mates in the mainstream media are also only too happy to lend a hand to stir the pot, whip up tensions and play to this base for political gain! Again you can also add to that those politicians who 'keep the heid doon' and cower from speaking up and condemning not only those who engage in it but those in both theirs and other institutions who actively facilitate it.
Only then will this behaviour stop being accepted!
UTOPIA !!!!!!
Gonna cut the cops a bit of slack after their statement on the subject. I await the follow-up with interest. It's the government's job to create the laws, the Polis' job to enforce them and the Judiciary's job to prosecute those who break them...the laws are already there to deal with incidents like this and the courts can't prosecute anybody if nobody was arrested so the failure yesterday lies squarely at the feet of the Polis, as not for the first time when dealing with this particular section of society, they abandoned their duty and failed to uphold the laws they are supposed to be there to enforce!
I know what you are saying Brimcbhoy about education but just look at Kelly’s post below - are the Police not educated? Are the judiciary not educated and yet it continues. It's all about education Rose. As it's everywhere now I think schools should include an anti racism lesson in the curriculum, that should include sectarianism. It's the only way we will stamp it out. In the 21st century this shit is still going on, not just in Scotland.
Quick enough to lift me at Glasgow Airport on the way back from a match years ago Frank, when I referred to them as orange bastards for acting the bollox.Gonna cut the cops a bit of slack after their statement on the subject. I await the follow-up with interest.
Michael Stewart doubles down as he calls on Ibrox club to tackle the racists
Michael Stewart has called on the club from Ibrox to root out the racists among their supporters.videocelts.com
This boy deserves a bit of credit and maybe protection.
He is putting himself out there to be shot down by sevco and it,s supporters.
Would love to see Michael Stewart become a politician,it might be the only way he can do anything about the sectarianism which is obviously close to his heart.

And that, means ANY Govt, because it has been this way since Adam was a boyIf the government won't tackle it we're fucked. Nothing will change till the government shows some baws.
Nothing will ever stop itI think we should deduct points for racist abuse, that would soon stop it.
No, its not taught in school of either denomination its taught in the house.Does anyone think....Going to the same school....would help .....

Breaks my heart to say it Dill, but I don't think you're too far off the mark. Anybody who takes the time to study Scottish history, both actual and social, can only come to the conclusion that Anti- Catholic, anti- Irish sentiment in Scotland is as much in evidence in our wee country as shortbread and heather. I simply refuse to respond in kind. My wee grandfather, ( who had to leave the north of Ireland due in some part to the fact that he was RC ) lived by the mantra, ' if you hate someone simply because they hate you, you're no better than them.' No wish to bore my fellow Noisers, but I turned my back on religion many many years ago. I think I've probably stated that fact a few times now. However, even though I'm now a confirmed atheist, I do come from a Catholic family and so I still feel the anger when I come across this pernicious, verminous mindset. But you know what ? It's not just Catholics most of this vermin hate. It's anybody that's in anyway different. And the problem isn't confined to Alba, it's global.Nothing will ever stop it
They couldn't care less about points, when it gets right down to it, it's all about being the PEEPO and 'Nobody likes us...we don't care...'
Taught in the house and it's marching season every week now
It is inbred, taught in the house, and it's getting worse
I went to a protestant school and, as a supporter of Celtic, and all it stood for.....was bullied both mentally and physically.....constantly....No. My kids grew up and went to different schools from some of their friends. Some went to the non denominational schools, some went to private schools and some went to Catholic schools. It made no difference to them as they all played together after school. I don't know where the idea comes from that it is the school's fault when the majority of children's early education begins in the home.
Besides, you can't fit all the children of Glasgow into the one school.
As I say S2, I'll await the outcome before condemning them. I learned my lesson many years ago regarding making comments before establishing the facts. I'm not going into details here S2, but I have very solid personal reasons for not believing the police. I try very hard not to allow my feelings to cloud my judgement. As you said earlier, this situation is pretty much evident in all levels of Scottish life, cops, press, politicians etc, so it will probably receive what amounts to no more than tokenism when it comes to responding to the events in question. However, I always at least try to rise above them, and so will give them the opportunity to demonstrate to the the wider public that perhaps, just perhaps, things are changing.Sorry Frank but that statement in itself is a disgrace and just goes to prove that they themselves are a massive part of the problem...They claim they didn't 'facilitate this event' even though they provided it with a police escort! They conveniently omit the identity of the group who engaged in this criminal activity whereas in the past they've had no issues identifying other groups committing public disorder offences! They use the terms 'anti-Irish Catholic singing' and 'sectarianism' instead of calling it what it was...i.e. overt racism and bigotry! They then unbelievably ask for the public's help to identify this unnamed group even though their own officers were standing right beside them. And last but not least they then have the fucking brass neck to say that this is a 'societal problem' like it's a valid excuse for them not arresting racists and bigots who are being racist and bigoted right in front of their faces!
As long as they're cutting the racists and the bigots slack then nobody should be cutting them any mate!
I understand the mantra your grandfather set Frank, and in most cases is correct, but make plenty of exceptions when sevco scum are involved alongside loyalists.Breaks my heart to say it Dill, but I don't think you're too far off the mark.
