I took this yesterday. I'm not sure what the bird is but when in doubt, always call an unknown seabird a "shag"! I hope it is ok as I was able to walk up quite close and it didn't try to get away - sadly there have been a few dead birds washed up (avian flu is bad off the north east coast).

Think it is a shag, it was showing the extent of avian flu on Springwatch a couple of weeks ago it's terrible.

Either a Shag or a cormorant......Yes this bird flu is a big concern now.......
